The next morning, I woke up in Julian's arms.
I tried to move, but that stirred Julian awake.
He held me tighter, his eyes filled with dangerous intent. "What, planning to run again?"
"No... I'm not."
He smiled, "If you still think I'm bad at it, it's okay. Every night, I'll practice with you until you're satisfied."
The comment was going wild:
"Ah, he's definitely still concerned about that."
"You can't say something like that about a man. Saying his skills are bad? That's too hurtful."
I could only cry, wanting to say three words: Please spare me.
Just then, my phone rang.
It was Edward calling.
To win back Julian's trust, I answered the call in front of him: "Is there something?"
Edward was taken aback: "Why is your voice so hoarse?"
I glanced at the culprit, then said, "Just say it."
Edward rubbed his forehead: "I know the person you want to propose to is me. Stop playing this 'hard to get' game. It's getting tiresome."
"I'm willing to lower myself and marry you, but first, you need to apologize to your sister."
"You made her embarrassed in front of everyone yesterday. Now, rumors are flying about her."
"She's been pampered all her life. How could she handle this kind of humiliation?"
"Tonight, the Montgomery family is hosting a banquet. I want you to publicly admit that you were jealous of your sister and made up lies to smear her reputation."
"As long as you admit your mistake and apologize to her in front of everyone, I'll agree to marry you."
I was so infuriated by Edward's twisted logic, I nearly laughed: "But everything I said last night was the truth. How do you expect me to apologize? I can't lie."
"Cecilia, stop causing trouble!" He ground his teeth, "Catherine has been crying all day. All of this is your fault. Don't you feel any guilt?"
I was so angry I nearly ground my teeth. I was thinking about how to curse him out.
But then I thought, they've bullied me so much, wouldn't it be too easy to just curse them back?
I should get my revenge, make them fall from grace.
So I pretended to agree: "Alright, I'll go to the banquet tonight."
Julian's expression darkened. I didn't even notice when he leaned in, his tail curling around my thigh.
His fingers slowly slid under my clothes, punishingly squeezing my most sensitive spot.
I gasped.
Before Edward noticed anything, I hung up the call.
Julian rolled over, pinning me under him, his dangerous aura overwhelming: "What, regret being with me and planning to go find him instead?"
I was about to push him away.
The comment commented:"Don't be fooled by how fierce the villain is now, he's actually extremely insecure."
"His fingertips are trembling, afraid the wife he's finally got will leave him for someone else."
At this, I changed my move from pushing him away to wrapping my arms around his neck, my legs locking around his waist as I seductively said:
"Who said I'm going to apologize to them? Do they deserve it?"
Julian's expression softened.
I gently blew into his ear: "Let's go together to the banquet tonight."
"It's about time I officially announce us."
