"What are you referring to?"
The flush on his face had not yet faded, creating a stark contrast with his indifferent expression.
"Are you going to see him?"
His eyes reddened slightly, but he stared at me intently, as though unwilling to miss any expression on my face.
"I..."
Suddenly, he pulled me close, grabbing my wrist and pulling me tightly into his arms. He buried his head into my shoulder, like a little puppy.
He held me so tightly, I couldn't move.
"Kasey!"
I was stunned. Was this the same aloof, cold Kasey I knew?
"You promised me you'd always be by my side."
His voice was muffled, a little choked.
My heart twisted painfully.
Before I could comfort him, he suddenly spoke, his face flushed, and his words fierce.
"Don't even think about leaving me!"
How much did he drink?
I thought to myself: [……]
"Kasey, do you... like me?"
I'm not stupid. Every time Pablo is mentioned, he gets all worked up. And then he locks me up, not letting me see him. It's just jealousy, acting all tough.
He froze for a moment, then pushed me away. His gaze softened, but there was a hint of curiosity in it. Then, he suddenly smiled.
"So, what about you? Do you like me, Jocelyn?"
"Of course, I've always liked you."
Kasey froze for a moment, and I felt a rush of joy. Finally, the thick-headed guy understood.
I had only mentioned Weston to test him, since he always acted indifferent towards me.
Finally, we were on the same page!
---
But things seemed to take a turn. He suddenly stood up, towering over me. Kasey's gaze grew sarcastic and cold again, full of distrust.
"I'm not that easy to deceive, Jocelyn. Do you think saying that will make me let you go?" He laughed bitterly.
What the hell?
I panicked.
"I'm not deceiving you, I really like you."
"Heh, how are you going to prove it?"
What? How am I supposed to prove I like you? What kind of question is that?
Seeing his expression grow colder, I quickly jumped off the bed, standing on the floor with bare feet, tiptoeing toward him.
Seemingly caught off guard by my move, he froze in place. I tilted my head and, with some embarrassment, gently placed a kiss on his cheek.
"How about this?" I felt a bit shy.
His ears turned a bit red, and I wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or something else. He suddenly said to me, "Heh, you'll do anything to see him, won't you?"
I: "???" He paused, his eyes red as he looked at me.
"Do you want to leave me that badly?"
...
I went numb.
I, Jocelyn, had to face the absurd challenge of proving that the person you like is the person you like! The key is, I even kissed him first, and he still didn't believe me!
I just want to die.
Forget it, I won't argue with a drunk.
...
I wanted to curse.
