The next day, I pushed myself up from Evander Whitmore's abs.
His body was covered with marks from where I had pressed him too hard.
He slept soundly, barely moving all night.
When I was still a spirit, I shared the bed with Evander for three whole years.
But now, as a human, it was my first time lying next to him. Once the initial awkwardness passed, a wave of shyness overtook me.
I blushed and tried to escape, but he caught my ankle and pulled me back onto him. His thin lips pressed against mine, teasingly brushing them.
"Shy now? You didn't have this expression when you asked me to call you master last night." I trembled and pushed him away.
"I'm hungry."
Evander squinted his eyes, but his fingers didn't stop their movements.
"Hm?"
I quickly explained.
"I mean, I'm hungry in my stomach."
Just then, my stomach growled at the perfect moment. Evander reluctantly withdrew his hand, looking at me with a calm yet amused expression.
"But this place," he said, his eyes flicking down to where his hand had been. "It says it's hungry too."
"…."
After we got ready and left the room, the nanny had already left after preparing lunch. The table was full of my favorite dishes. Once we finished eating, Evander asked me:
"What plans do you have for today?"
"I have amnesia, so I can't remember anything," I teased him. "Tell me, how did we date in the past?"
Evander's face turned red, and he shook his head proudly.
"You always liked being with me, never wanting to be apart."
"Where did we usually like to go?"
I couldn't tell if it was just my imagination, but Evander's expression darkened. A fleeting sadness crossed his face.
"We…," he paused, as though lost in a distant memory.
"We liked staying at home."
Staying at home?
I thought back to this morning. My waist still ached. I definitely couldn't stay at home today.
"Evander, let's go to the home goods mall."
"Huh?"
"The house feels so empty everywhere, I don't like it." Evander never liked noisy places.
The house had few belongings, all decorated in cold tones, with no warmth at all. I wanted to fill this house with my own colors. Not just a few clothes in the closet.
But the whole house.
Evander was always anxious. If I disappeared for just a few seconds, he would rush over to check on me. Only when he saw I was fine would he let out a sigh of relief and pull me tightly into his arms.
"Larissa, I thought I would never find you again," his eyes were filled with tears as he gasped for air.
"When I can't see you, I always feel like something is missing."
So, I wanted to fill this emptiness by taking over the space.
