Magnus left.
I sat there in stunned silence for a full twenty minutes. Did he… did he just kiss me?
To say our relationship was nothing short of hostile would be an understatement. The last time we met, I had smiled sweetly while cursing him to meet an early demise.
Magnus had merely given me an indifferent glance before replying, "Then I suppose I'll be dragging Miss Rothschild down with me." And yet, in a mere two weeks, I had been in a car accident, lost my memory, and fallen head over heels for Magnus.
Even worse, I had shamelessly moved into his private estate.
What kind of disaster was this…
The mansion was silent.
I sat stiffly in my chair, taking a long moment to collect my thoughts.
One thing was certain: I absolutely could not let Magnus know I had regained my memory. He would mock me for the rest of my life.
Frantically, I rummaged through my suitcase and finally found my work phone hidden in a secret pocket.
The moment my secretary answered, she nearly burst into tears.
"Miss Rothschild, where on earth have you been for the past two weeks? Magnus is about to take over all of your business deals!"
My teeth clenched in frustration.
No wonder he had been treating me so gently these past weeks.
So, while he was laughing at me internally, he was also systematically swallowing up my business?
"The contract for Y City—is it being signed today?"
My secretary, panicked, sounded like a cat on a hot tin roof. "Yes! You've been gone for half a month, and Y City is about to sign with Magnus instead!" My heart sank.
I immediately got up and dressed. "I'll intercept Magnus. Tell Weston Hayes that if he doesn't secure this deal, he's fired!"
