I didn't expect the heavy rain to cause a power outage as soon as I opened the bathroom door.
The entire world went pitch black, except for the loud thunder outside, which sounded as if the end of the world was coming. The rain had arrived so suddenly.
My phone, which I had thrown somewhere in the living room before entering the bathroom, was out of reach.
Childhood memories of darkness flooded back.
I trembled as I called out, "Alistair?"
A faint light appeared.
"I'm here," came his warm, steady voice.
I was 24 years old, yet in that moment, I felt like a child who couldn't get the candy they wanted.
Alistair, who stood at 6'1" and had once been voted the most handsome and gentlemanly pianist by online fans, wrapped his arms tightly around me.
I wasn't satisfied. I wriggled a little in his embrace, not behaving properly at all.
"Alistair, can't you hold me tighter?"
His heart raced.
The temperature around us rose, and he whispered, "Kinley, stop moving, okay?"
"Is it… your clothes?" I asked.
After he mentioned it, I realized that I had planned to just sleep in his pajamas without wearing a bra. Just at that moment, the power returned.
I hung on to Alistair like a koala.
The temperature was rising. I guessed his face must be flushed, and his ears were as red as ripened wine. It made me want to bite them.
I realized…
All these years, aside from work colleagues, the only woman in his life had been me. How innocent.
A mischievous thought suddenly crossed my mind.
"Could you carry me to the bed?" I asked playfully.
Alistair obediently listened. The moment he gently laid me on the bed, he turned and found himself pinned underneath me.
"Alistair, I like you."
My confession was direct.
"What about Robert?" Alistair asked in return.
I leaned in, so close that I could hear his breath.
"I don't like Robert either. He's using me to get my father's social resources, and I'm using him to irritate my dad."
"But I was wrong. My selfishness has hurt so many people. I don't want to make that mistake again, and now I understand my own heart."
"Alistair—"
"I like you."
"In this world, I only like you."
There was no resistance from him.
He simply kept his eyes locked on mine.
Finally, I couldn't control my desire any longer and kissed him on the lips.
Who said only men desire women? I finally understood that saying.
The physical desire and the emotional desire are one and the same person. Alistair, so innocent, had probably never been kissed before. His eyes were fixed on me, full of longing. It was almost too much to bear.
I reached out to cover his intense gaze.
"Fool, open your mouth."
...
"Breathe, are you trying to suffocate yourself?"
...
"You bit me..."
...
"Baby."
