"What's so admirable about the female CEO of Y Group? A woman works so hard, but in the end, she has to get married. In my opinion, she's probably an ugly freak who no man wants, and that's why she's working so hard to make money."
The past is history, but it's clear Evelin's brain is still catching up.
The other girls nearby chimed in, and I couldn't help but curl my lips. Education really doesn't equate to intelligence.
Evelin continued her brainless rants: "What I say is, women, the most important thing is to find a good man. That's what makes you complete."
Then, proudly patting her flat stomach, she said, "Do you guys know whose child I'm carrying? The future heir of the Ritter family, the crown prince of the capital, Keshawn."
As soon as the words left her mouth, the whole class was shocked.
"Evelin, are you serious?"
Apparently, some people were still sane enough not to believe it.
Evelin puffed out her belly, looking disdainfully at the one who asked: "Of course it's true."
"To you, the Ritter family is unreachable, but to me, it's just a normal family. We're always in the same social circle."
"Wait and see, soon you'll hear the wedding news between me and the crown prince, and you'll be able to broaden your horizons."
By this point, everyone believed her, starting a new round of flattery and sycophancy.
I couldn't help but smile.
Evelin wasn't afraid of her lies being exposed. Let alone a Blevins family, even if there were ten Blevins families, they could never reach the Ritter family. If she really had a decent friend, she'd know that Kaeden had been chasing me for ten years. This was an open secret in our circle.
Isn't it just typical? Someone trying to show off, and they happen to step into my turf.
While I was enjoying the drama, a noisy voice suddenly came from the door. A middle-aged woman was shouting my name!
"Genesis, where are you? I've come to see my grandson!"
What the hell???
The classmates all turned to look at me, and the smug Evelin pointed at me and said, "Miss, that's Genesis."
I know this woman. She's the notorious loudmouth from the neighboring village. Her son's a real troublemaker, too. He's infamous around here for being arrested three times—for stealing, harassing widows, and robbing people. He's trouble with a capital T.
The aunt looked at me excitedly. "Genesis, I've been looking for you for so long. Come home with me. What's so great about studying? You can come farm with me and make a few thousand every year!"
Instantly, the classroom burst into laughter.
I gritted my teeth and rubbed my head. "Miss, who told you I was pregnant?"
The aunt answered honestly, "A girl named Evelin called me and told me. I came as soon as I heard. Come on, let's go back and take care of yourself."
As she said this, she reached out to grab me. I quickly stepped back and explained, "Miss, I don't know your son, and I'm not pregnant!"
Evelin snickered and covered her mouth. "Genesis, weren't you promiscuous back then? Now you're rejecting this poor aunt's family because we're poor? You're such a snob. How can you be so vain?"
The aunt echoed her words. "Yes, girl, you can't be like this. My son is such a good man. What's wrong with him? Why don't you like him?"
I laughed in anger and nodded. "Miss, you're right. You came to find your grandson, didn't you? Let me show you where he is!"
With that, I walked up to Evelin, grabbed her, and dragged her in front of the aunt.
"I'm not pregnant, but she is! Take her home!"
Evelin pushed me away and yelled, "Genesis, you're insane!"
I crossed my arms and sneered, "If I were insane, I'd have already torn your mouth apart. Do you enjoy spreading rumors about me?"
Evelin gave me a contemptuous look and mocked, "What proof do you have that I'm spreading rumors? A few days ago, I saw you at the gynecology clinic. You threw up, didn't you? Are you going to deny that wasn't you?"
I narrowed my eyes. "Let's go to the hospital right now. Do you dare?"
Evelin arrogantly said, "What are you? Why should I go with you to the hospital?"
I laughed angrily. "Fine, I'll call the police and report that you're spreading rumors!"
I then looked at the aunt and warned, "You'd better not leave. We're going to the police station together."
When the aunt heard "police station," she immediately became scared. She hurriedly turned and left, fearing someone would catch her. Her son was always getting arrested, so she had a fear of the police.
When Evelin saw the aunt leave, a look of disappointment flashed across her face.
She then took out her phone and arrogantly said, "Genesis, don't you think you're being ridiculous? You still haven't figured out your place."
"Don't think that just because we're standing together now, you're anything to me. In my eyes, you're nothing but dust. I'm the cloud in the sky, and you're just the dirt beneath my feet."
I sneered, "Go ahead, take those words to the police station."
Before I could drag her to the station, a loud noise came from the door again. And of course, someone was shouting my name!
"Genesis!"
