That night, I had originally planned to take Alexander out for a nice dinner.
I thought a doctor like him wouldn't be into burgers, spicy wings, hot dogs, and beer.
But to my surprise, he opened up the map and found a street full of street food.
I was confused. "Doctor Montgomery, don't you hate places like this?"
He smiled. "Well, it's fine. Aren't these your favorites?"
I nodded, though I was curious how he knew that.
So, we ended up going to the night market.
The crowded street was filled with the fragrant aroma of hot food.
We casually picked up some barbecue, buffalo wings, and shrimp boils.
Shrimp boils in winter are skinny and expensive, but I couldn't resist the taste, so we bought some anyway.
On our way back, we passed a supermarket, and Alexander said he needed to buy two bottles of water.
But I clearly saw him linger by the checkout counter, holding a small square box.
We're adults, I definitely knew what that was.
My face immediately turned bright red.
If there was a mirror, I'm sure my face was the same shade as the cooked crayfish.
I buried half of my face in my sweater, and when Alexander came out, I suspiciously peeked down.
In the elevator, he looked at my ears and asked, "Isabella, why are your ears so red? Did the cold get to you?"
He reached out to touch my ears.
The cold touch made me involuntarily shrink my neck.
He chuckled softly.
His gaze was filled with meaning.
