Before long, the door opened.
Alexander walked in and our eyes met. He walked directly to my side.
"I'm late."
I shook my head.
Not late.
It's not too late at all.
Alexander was usually so busy.
This was the first family gathering he attended since our marriage.
At the wedding, he hadn't drunk, so it all piled up for this moment.
Alexander picked up his glass and didn't refuse any of the toasts.
He drank one glass after another, his ears slowly turning red.
The relatives slowly began to leave.
Before they left, one of them called out to him, "Alex, you're nearly thirty, it's time to have a child!"
"Alex, you'd better work on it! Have a healthy son soon!"
Alexander smiled and said "Okay," privately holding my hand.
His eyes sparkled.
Heh—
How dare he touch me!
By the time everyone had left, only the three of us—Grandmother, Alexander, and I—remained.
Alexander's ears were red as he leaned against my shoulder.
I had also drunk some wine.
It was too late to go home.
Finally, Grandmother spoke with a smile: "The room on the second floor has been kept ready for you. I even cleaned it before you came back."
"Stay the night here."
I looked at Alexander, his face hidden under his black coat, already fast asleep, and nodded.
Grandmother glanced at us, then smiled and switched on the light on the second floor.
"Go to bed early."
"You should rest as well."
I helped Alexander up, and we stumbled upstairs together.
He grabbed my sweater around the waist and softly murmured, "Honey..."
Wife, you big fool!
If we don't clarify this matter, I'll be your ex-wife!
