Chapter 6

　　The goal was to capture the SSS-level beastman on the run—Lee.
　　I looked at her with anger.
　　"To capture him, you actually ignored the protection regulations and fired at civilians!"
　　"Does dad know you're doing such mad things?"
　　Carley looked at me with indifference.
　　"Mad?"
　　She bent over, seemingly amused by my words.

　　I frowned.
　　She truly is an unreasonable madwoman.
　　Science is important, but if it means losing humanity, how is it different from slaughter?
　　Carley said with a hint of jealousy:
　　"Noelle, sometimes I really envy you. The beastmen are so devoted to you."
　　"It's a pity you didn't die just now."
　　Her eyes glowed with a crimson light.

　　Carley is the adopted daughter of my father. Although she is my sister in name, we are not close.

　　Carley shook her head in regret and took the unconscious Lee away.

　　"You sought out Carley with the termination agreement, only to suffer her inhumane abuse, and then happened to encounter the escape of an SSS-level beastman. Carley found out that I took Lee, so she forced you to join forces to capture him."
　　"Am I right?"
　　With each word I spoke, his face grew paler.
　　Cold sweat continuously oozed from his forehead.
　　"I..."
　　He choked up and remained silent in the end.
　　I knew that perhaps he was genuinely touched for a moment, believing I would come back to save him.
　　Perhaps even he had little hope.
　　But Alvaro's greatest love has always been himself.
　　To him, I am just a tool to be used.
