I walked to the drawer by the coffee table.
I pulled out a stack of documents and casually threw them at his chest.
"Didn't you always want my sister to adopt you? This is the contract for terminating the adoption of a beastman, and I've already signed it."
"Alvaro, you're free now."
I said each word with almost no extra emotion.
The usually composed Alvaro was especially shocked at this moment.
His eyes showed a ripple of emotions but quickly calmed down.
He carelessly sneered:"Noelle, don't regret this. Once I'm out that door, I won't look at you again!"
I shrugged.
"Goodbye, don't let the door hit you on the way out."
He took the contract with a cold face and turned to leave my house.
There was not a hint of reluctance.
Watching his retreating figure, I let out a sigh of relief.
Sometimes I think, even if I raised a dog, it would at least wag its tail to please me.
"But after raising he for so many years, he wouldn't even let me touch him."
"His eyes always showed disdain."
"As if I were some sort of filthy thing."
"I mocked myself inwardly."
"Forget it, true feelings or whatever—just consider it as feeding the dogs."
Clank—
"It seemed like there was a strange noise coming from my fridge."
"I quickly opened it and found the snake man curled up, huddled inside the freezer."
"There was a layer of frost on his scales."
"His eyelashes were also covered with a thin layer of snow."
"I was completely stunned and quickly dragged him out!"
"‘Why are you so stupid? My house is so big, why did you have to hide in the fridge?'"
"Seeing his almost frozen 'body.'"
"I quickly filled the bathtub with warm water and put the snake man in it."
"The water gradually warmed up."
"The frost on his body slowly melted away."
"Suddenly, I smelled a strange odor."
"It was coming from the snake's body."
"It was like some kind of woody scent, with a cool and somewhat aggressive note, not unpleasant."
"Could it be the smell of a frozen snake?"
I was startled and quickly started to bathe him, trying to remove the odor.
But as I was washing…
I noticed something was wrong.
His body was burning up, as if he had a high fever.
My hands touched him awkwardly.
Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist.
His tightly shut eyes slowly opened, revealing emerald green slitted pupils that were surprisingly beautiful.
The tips of his ears turned an unusual red.
"Don't touch… there…"
I didn't expect that the serpent's body would be so sensitive.
Seeing him like this, I couldn't help but tease him.
"Alright, unless you tell me your name."
"Hmm? Not going to say?"
I threatened him and was about to touch him.
He lowered his gaze and looked at me, "Lee Pham."
I got the answer I wanted with satisfaction but still took the chance to touch him quickly.
He seemed unable to control himself and bit down on my shoulder strap with his sharp fangs.
"You're inconsistent."
Lee's tail slowly coiled around my waist.
