Chapter 3

　　When the male lead of the manor arrived, he found the tragic female lead lying in the corridor, her limbs twisted like dough, emitting a suspicious smell.
　　The entire manor was stunned.
　　"What happened to her? Who did this?" The male lead's face darkened.
　　The servants who had chased the female lead out of the room immediately knelt, terrified, and explained that they had only whipped the female lead a few times, unaware of why she had ended up like this.
　　The male lead, furious, though he mistreated the female lead, secretly had a soft spot for her. Seeing her in such a miserable state, he grabbed the whip from the servants and began furiously whipping them. Then, he had the servant sold out of the manor.
　　His first love, hurried over to plead for the servant, but the male lead pointed to the female lead lying in bed and said, "Although I hate her, no matter what, she is the mistress, and that servant just nothing. A servant who bullies her mistress this way deserves to be sold off! That's mercy!"
　　His first love, weak and tearful, said, "It's all that servant's fault, she's so pitiful. We should hurry and get a doctor to see to Madam."
　　The servant beside her gritted his teeth and said, "Sir, I'm sure Madam Ashford is pretending. She's always hated the mistress and knew that servant was loyal to her, so she deliberately harmed herself to frame that servant!"
　　The male lead didn't believe it, "Pretending? A mistress would go as far as crawling on the ground and wetting herself just to frame a servant?"
　　His first love's beautiful face was filled with shock: "Wetting herself?"
　　The male lead snorted coldly and left without another word.
　　His first love quickly followed, no longer daring to mention saving that servant.
　　To show her generosity, she sent for the best doctor and the finest medicines to treat the female lead.
　　In the novel, that servant was the first love's right-hand person, and her storyline didn't end until much later. Yet, due to our meddling, she was already taken out of the plot.
　　The female lead was supposed to suffer in a dark room for several days, which would leave her with lasting weakness. But now, with the best medicines and treatment, her injuries were healed quickly.
　　Sigh, we weren't sure if we had harmed or helped her.
