Chapter 15

　　Icarus froze, his expression instantly becoming fragile, filled with countless layers of sorrow.
　　He looked at me, with voice full of sadness:
　　"Why would you think that of me? How could I do something like that? Cheat..."
　　The word "cheat" lingered on his lips for a moment, turning into tears at the corner of his eyes.
　　Icarus cried, his eyes glistening with tears, choking on them as he wiped them away and turned his head, unwilling to look at me.
　　He seemed humiliated, his voice hoarse:
　　"You can't insult me like this, you can't treat me like this. Don't you see how much I love you? There's no one else but you..."
　　I silently opened my phone and showed him the photo my best friend had sent me— the one that caused an uproar all over the city.
　　It was a photo of him being supported by his secretary, walking into a hotel together.
　　According to the news, neither of them came out of that room that night.
　　Icarus was stunned.
　　He frowned and stared at the photo for a long time, before finally recalling something, his expression indescribable:
　　"So, you were angry with me because of this?"
　　"Then tell me, what did you do that night?"
　　Icarus opened his mouth, as if wanting to say something, but didn't.
　　He gave me a strange look and made a phone call.
　　After the call, his expression was hard to describe.
　　It was a mix of confusion, lightness, sadness, and regret...
　　He murmured softly:"Is this why we've missed so many years?"
