"You do," he answered.
He looked up, his voice muffled. "It's a technical position at a car company in the southern suburbs. I've already arranged for you to take a leave these past few days."
Given Icarus's current wealth...
I asked suspiciously, "That company... it's not yours, is it?"
He shook his head. "No, you won't let me interfere with your work.
"I mentioned before that you could stop working, and I could transfer my shares in the company to you, or you could come work for me, closer and with less stress."
"But as soon as I brought it up, you yelled at me and didn't come home for half a month, so I didn't dare bring it up again."
Icarus carefully held me, his fingers tightening with visible tension, his voice trembling as he spoke.
He was genuinely afraid of me saying something unpleasant.
I pulled away from him and stood up, wanting to say something, but then decided against it.
What happened had already happened, and it felt wrong to dwell on it or bring up past grievances.
"I understand."
I looked up at him. "Let's just let the past stay in the past, okay? Don't overthink it."
Then, without warning, a crucial thought crossed my mind. Almost instinctively, I glanced down at Icarus's lower body.
"Are you going to sleep with me tonight?"
