In my understanding, I would never be unfaithful to my family.
Even if I stopped liking him, I would have divorced first before doing anything else.
I wanted to ask that "James" for clarity, but seeing Icarus in this resentful husband state, I couldn't bring myself to do it.
How annoying!
I leaned back in the seat, rubbing my forehead in frustration.
Icarus asked,
"How about we go pick up Ismael from kindergarten?"
"Huh?"
I reacted after a moment, feeling puzzled:
"He's only three years old. He's already in kindergarten?"
So early?
Icarus fell silent for a moment, his tone low,
"I'm busy with work, and you... you don't really care for him. We only have a nanny at home, and I'm worried, so I sent him to kindergarten to play with other kids."
I froze.
After a long pause, I asked hesitantly,
"Was I really that bad before?"
Coldly distant toward kids, neglectful of him, considering divorce and cheating... How could I have been so terrible?!
Icarus put the computer aside, lifted me onto his lap, and buried my head into his shoulder.
He said,
"It's okay, everything will be fine. We, the three of us, will live well from now on."
