Chapter 1

　　When I saw Julius Ashford again, he was patting his beer belly, handing out cigarettes in a private room.
　　I clenched the hem of my luxury suit.
　　It was only at that moment that I realized why Damien Grant had so suddenly allowed me to attend the reunion and even teased me to catch up with old classmates.
　　Because he knew. He knew that Julius was no longer the young man who once risked everything to help me escape the Grant household.
　　He had grown fat, matured, his hairline receding slightly.
　　He had a wife and daughter now, cradling his belly as he chuckled, content in his mundane happiness.
　　"Good for him."
　　Lowering my head, I thought:
　　"Someone as kind as him deserves this."
