Chapter 13

　　They clearly hadn't expected us to be there.
　　After a brief moment of confusion, Evander suddenly seemed to remember something. He turned to me, his expression wavering:
　　"Rosamund, since you're here, can we talk after I sort this out?"
　　I shook my head coldly.
　　Though he was a victim of the plot.
　　I could tell from this situation that Evander was a man who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
　　Now that he had regained his senses because the story had ended, he wanted to explain, but I knew it was only because of the longstanding ties between the Kingswell and Whitestone families.
　　If one day his true love appeared, my future would be far worse than it is now.
　　Fortunately, I had no feelings for him.
　　Evander seemed to have figured out what I was thinking.
　　He stepped forward anxiously. "Rosamund, I was just manipulated by Yvonne. I never meant to hurt you. Do you remember what I told you before?"
　　I laughed.
　　How familiar those words sounded.
　　"It's just a small thing. Who remembers all that?"
　　I said calmly, taking my mother's hand. "Mom, we shouldn't stay here. Let's go."
　　Evander showed an expression of wounded feelings.
　　Just then, Yvonne suddenly went mad, stepping forward and pushing me with all her might.
　　"Rosamund Whitestone, did you tell them something? Is that why Evander wants to call off our engagement?"
　　I crashed into the wall, frowning. "What are you losing your mind for?"
　　Yvonne pointed at me, her usual meekness gone, now glaring at me as she scolded:
　　"It's all your fault! You used some trick to seduce Evander. He's always loved me. How could he break off the engagement?
　　"Rosamund, you're a vicious woman! Ever since I appeared in the Whitestone family, you've done everything to bully and hurt me. I've endured it all, but Evander is the only one I have left.
　　"You're brilliant, from a great family, you have loving parents. You have everything! Why do you still want to steal Evander from me?"
