Alaric was in a terrible mood at that moment.
He had indeed intervened on Eleanor's behalf, even going so far as to make a scene in front of the principal.
The principal had even offered to waive his tuition fees, making him think the principal recognized his excellence.
However, after my family canceled their funding to the school this year, the principal realized the ridiculous actions Alaric had taken, offending the my family.
So, when Alaric pleaded, without thinking, the principal kicked him out.
Alaric was irritated because of the humiliation he had suffered.
When Eleanor questioned him like this, his anger flared up immediately, and he said:
"Do you think I can just get you the guaranteed spot because I'm helping you? Why don't you think about earning it through your own efforts instead of trying to take shortcuts?"
Eleanor widened her eyes in disbelief.
She never expected that the usually gentle Alaric would speak to her in such an impatient tone.
Regaining her composure, she suddenly cast aside all her emotions when she realized Alaric had scolded her:
"Alaric, you liar! You promised me so well when you took my money, but now that you have the money, you turn your back on me?"
Many students were passing by the bulletin board.
Seeing the two of them yelling, the students gathered around.
Alaric, who was always concerned about his image, couldn't tolerate Eleanor saying such things about him.
He sneered and, with a mocking look, aimed the sharp words he once used against me at Eleanor:
"As if you've never spent my money before. That two-thousand-dollar necklace and those nearly one-thousand-dollar shoes—who bought them for you? Don't tell me you actually think your rural parents could afford such luxury."
"Alaric Thornbridge, are you crazy?!"
