I went to the hospital to visit my uncle.
Cassius Ravenscroft was there too. He snorted when he saw me.
The two adults were chatting, so I pulled Cassius out of the room, and the first thing I said was:
"We can stop funding Alaric now."
Cassius's previously disdainful expression suddenly changed, and he stared at me in disbelief:
"What happened, did you two break up?"
I stared at him expressionlessly.
He didn't know that we were never even together.
Since Alaric's mother's incident, I secretly had Cassius fund Alaric under the Ravenscroft Family's name.
I gave him 5,000 dollars a month for living expenses and even got his tuition waived by the school.
At first, Alaric would politely write letters to Cassius to express his gratitude.
Of course, I was the one who read and replied to those letters.
Perhaps because my replies were too intense, filled with strong emotions.
Gradually, through letters, we began to discuss some ambiguous topics.
However, Alaric had no idea. He thought he was corresponding with a girl named "Cassius."
Before I awakened, the main reason I was so obsessed was that I thought Alaric was the gentle and restrained boy from the letters, not the hysterical one at school.
Seeing my bad expression, Cassius pouted and said:
"Fine, if you've made up your mind, but I still want to remind you, Alaric is not a good person. Now that the Ravenscroft Family's funding has stopped, he has no source of income. Don't be foolish and keep giving him money."
As Cassius spoke, he opened social media and forwarded me a few articles from marketing accounts, titled "How the Ungrateful Man Make the Family Faces Destruction," "The Importance of Social Class in Marriage," and "Why Poor Men Shouldn't Marry."
"Got it."
I said, while deeply regretting inside.
There were still normal people around me.
Why didn't I listen to the advice earlier?
