As the graduation approached, the sun grew harsher.
While I had already gotten home, enjoying watermelon and doing homework, Alaric was just arriving at the hospital, drenched in sweat.
After finishing my homework, I called my mom:
"Mom, where are you? I need to talk to you about something."
The outcome of my family was still fresh in my mind.
I needed to remind my parents to avoid anything that could harm the company.
"What's wrong? Your uncle is sick, and we're visiting him at the hospital."
"Which hospital? I'll come to find you."
After getting the address, I had Mr. Edgar take me to the hospital.
As I passed through the payment hall, I heard a familiar voice:
"Doctor, please proceed with my mother's surgery first. I will find a way to make up the payment."
The doctor sighed:
"The hospital has rules. If you don't pay, I can't help you. You still owe for previous medical expenses. I've already tried to negotiate. If you can't raise the money in the next few days, your mother will have to be discharged."
Alaric was brushed aside, collapsing in despair onto the floor.
The proud, unyielding figure he had been this morning at school seemed like a different person entirely.
It turned out that even Alaric could bow his head.
What was it that made him so arrogant before me?
Was it the mindless love of the supporting female character?
I walked past him toward the elevator.
Just as I passed by, the boy, his head lowered, suddenly gritted his teeth and spoke through clenched jaws.
