Laurence coldly picked me up.
But in his heart, he was overjoyed:
"Finally, my sister realized the true nature of this bitch."
"My sister is so soft, I just want to hold her forever."
"So this is what it feels like to be depended on by my sister? It's amazing! I'm definitely going to get justice for her!"
Listening to his incessant thoughts, I rolled my eyes.
Laurence seemed smart, but turns out he was just a dumb handsome guy.
He was still pleased with himself. If it weren't for me, he'd definitely be getting bashed by netizens today.
Seeing the situation, Seraphine weakly defended herself:
"I really didn't do it, Cecelia, how can you lie like this?"
This time, Laurence was clever and immediately retorted:
"When you asked Cecelia to point out how I was bullying her earlier, didn't you say children can't lie?"
Seraphine: "..."
The other guests now looked at her with a hint of disdain.
Seeing that I had achieved my goal, I didn't want to stay any longer.
After all, even if Laurence was in the right, Seraphine had a larger fanbase, and he would inevitably be at a disadvantage.
So, I tugged on Laurence's sleeve and said, "Laurence, my hand hurts. I need medicine."
He had been about to throw a few more biting remarks at Seraphine.
But as soon as he heard me, he scooped me up and carried me back to the tent. After asking the production team for some ointment, he tossed it at my feet.
"Now you know how it feels, huh? Next time you run off, I won't bother with you."
But in his mind, he was panicking:
"Crap, did I sound too harsh? Will she get mad at me?"
"Ugh, I really want to slap myself. Why does my mouth always betray me like this?"
Me:"..."
I sighed internally. This stubborn, sharp-tongued man.
While Laurence internally wrestled with "How do I make it up to her?", he awkwardly shuffled closer to me.
Flashing him a sweet smile, I waved him over. "Laurence, crouch down a little."
Laurence stiffened, his muscles tense. "What do you want?" he asked coldly.
But his body betrayed him as he crouched obediently in front of me.
Without warning, I lunged forward, catching him off guard as I rolled up his pant leg.
His calf bore the unmistakable marks of a snake bite, the skin already bruised and swollen.
Laurence's gaze flickered, and he tried to pull his leg back.
But I stared at him sternly. "Laurence, you're hurt. Why didn't you use the ointment?"
Laurence replied, "It's... unnecessary," he muttered.
Pointing a chubby finger at him, I dragged out an exaggerated "Ohhhh. Are you afraid of the pain?"
Laurence immediately flared up. "Who's afraid of pain?!"
Satisfied with his reaction, I handed him the ointment. "Then hurry up and apply it, okay? Don't be stubborn!"
He silently took the ointment, stared at me for a few seconds, and then turned away with a proud "Hmph."
