Chapter 28

　　After what happened earlier, I didn't know how to face Dr. Midnight.
　　After hesitating for a long time, I turned around and smiled, "Hi, it's been a while, Dr. Midnight."
　　Before I could finish speaking, everything went black as Dr. Midnight suddenly stepped forward and pulled me into his arms!
　　"I've been thinking these past few days. You are, after all, a free swan, and I shouldn't hold you back because of my selfishness." Dr. Midnight's cool voice came from above me. "But, Frostie, you came here on your own."
　　I stood frozen for a long time.
　　In the end, one thought remained in my mind:
　　Dr. Midnight, he seems, maybe, possibly, confessing to me?!
　　Does that mean he likes me too?
　　This realization made my face flush with excitement.
　　"No, Dr. Midnight, you're so good to me. How can that be considered restraining me?"
　　He loosened his grip slightly, his eyes shining brightly as he asked, "Do you really think that?"
　　"Yes."
　　"Well, I'm eight years older than you..."
　　"Isn't that great? Now I have another teacher in my life."
　　Dr. Midnight smiled and patted my head. "A teacher, and also a lover."
　　The word "lover" made my face turn bright red.
　　He became serious and said, "From now on, I won't hold you back. I'll fully support whatever you want to do, but I'm willing to be your backup."
　　When Zach chased after us, he overheard these words.
　　He gazed deeply at Dr. Midnight and me, wrapped in each other's embrace.
　　After a long moment, he gritted his teeth and turned away.
