The class beauty must have thought Zach had lost his mind.
Frankly, so did I.
After saying this, Zach blocked the doorway and called the administration office on his phone.
Before long, teachers from the office arrived. After Zach explained the situation, their expressions turned severe.
The class beauty and her group were taken away.
Unsurprisingly, they were likely facing disciplinary action.
Once the matter was resolved, I had no intention of staying longer. I thanked Zach and prepared to leave.
But he extended his arm, stopping me.
I looked up at him, confused.
Zach's eyes held a faint glimmer of anticipation and excitement.
Licking his lips nervously, he asked, "Three years ago, at that ballet competition, the girl who danced... was that you?"
Memory flooded back, and I suddenly recalled his phone wallpaper.
My reaction didn't escape Zach's notice.
He took a deep breath. "It really was you. I've been looking for you for three years."
His intensity caught me off guard, and I stepped back. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"I was the son of the organizer at that time. I saw "I'm the son of one of the event organizers. I saw your performance from the audience, and it left a deep impression on me." He took two steps closer, as if trying to trap me within his presence. "Frostie, I... I've been holding onto something for three years, and I need to tell you."
My heart began to race uncontrollably.
Not from excitement, but fear.
I had a sense of what Zach might say, but I wanted nothing to do with it.
The hurtful things he'd said to me before were still vivid in my mind.
They were like thorns lodged in my heart.
"What is it?" I raised my head and met his gaze head-on. "Are you going to warn me to stay away from you? Or remind me to lose weight so I can be more likable to boys?"
Zach froze in place.
