The next day, news of me being Zach's pathetic simp spread across the entire grade.
Zach was well-known throughout the school.
Leveraging his popularity, students from other classes came to gawk at me.
And I heard even more hurtful comments:
"Wow, she's so fat. It's gross."
"Zach must be blind, there's no way he'd take her."
"Forget about Zach, I wouldn't take her either."
"She's so fat and still doesn't lose weight, if I were her, I'd rather die."
I quietly tore up my diary.
It wasn't that I didn't want to lose weight.
I tried starving myself until my stomach cramped.
I'd run for hours, pushing myself to the limit.
But under the effects of the medication, nothing worked.
Unless I stopped taking the meds.

After school, I carried a stack of assignments to the teachers' office.
Unexpectedly, I overheard Zach being scolded.
He had brought a toy gun to school, which was confiscated by the teacher. Now, he was pleading to get it back.
"You'll get it after the promise," the teacher said.
Zach frowned. "Alright then. I will call my parents."
The teacher sighed helplessly, "Fine."
Zach turned on the phone.
As I walked past him, I caught a glimpse of his phone screen out of the corner of my eye. His wallpaper was a photo of a girl.
My footsteps halted abruptly.
That photo... wasn't it me at fourteen, after I won the championship in a ballet competition?
