Chapter 21

　　At the end of the year, I finished handling everything and handed over the work to my assistant.
　　After everything was done, my assistant hesitated and said, "Mrs. Ashwood, Kart..."
　　I rubbed my temples. "What's wrong?"
　　She said, "Kart sold his father's house to pay off his debts and married that woman named Velvet. Now, they are living with their family in the old house they rented. Life is very hard for them. Mr. Ravenhood had warned them before, and they won't dare to disturb you anymore."
　　I nodded, signaling that I understood.
　　The assistant immediately sighed in relief.
　　I looked at her in confusion. "What's wrong?"
　　The assistant smiled. "You didn't show mercy, and we're all relieved. Kart used to cause chaos in the company, and we were all scared of him."
　　I smiled as well. "It won't happen again."
　　On the first day of the new year, I drove to the Ravenhood family's house.
　　As soon as I entered, Amily ran over and hugged me. "Mom!"
　　A lump formed in my throat. "Yeah."
　　Amily smiled contentedly. "I can finally call you Mom openly."
　　I took her hand and entered the house, where Cyrus was cooking for us, preparing a large dinner.
　　At the dinner table, he suddenly took a ring out of his suit pocket. Kneeling in front of me, with my surprised gaze fixed on him:
　　"I've set the wedding in the love island. I've invited a few friends I've worked with before. It'll be simple, I hope you don't mind."
　　I let him put the ring on my finger, and holding Amily's hand, I said to him, "It's alright. You and Amily are the best gifts I could ask for."
