Back at the apartment, I went to the corner of the walk-in closet and took down the wedding dress.
I had waited six months to get it, but unfortunately, I'll never have the chance to wear it.
The wedding dress was custom-made, non-refundable.
I simply grabbed a pair of scissors and cut it up.
After all, keeping it here would only be an eyesore for Clayton.
Before leaving, I took off the ring and placed it on the coffee table.
I didn't take much with me—just my personal belongings; I left everything else behind.
After some thought, I left a note for Clayton,
telling him he could do whatever he wanted with the apartment and everything in it—no need to ask me.
I booked a red-eye flight to H City.
My best friend got married there last year, so it was the perfect time to visit her and clear my mind.
My best friend and I planned to go shopping and have afternoon tea.
In the evening, there was a small gathering with some old classmates and friends.
After a few rounds of drinks, someone else walked through the door.
A few of the girls immediately lit up: "Jaydin Mcmillan? What a rare guest!"
"Yeah, big shot, what brings you here tonight?"
"I was just next door for a meeting and heard some old friends were gathering, so I thought I'd join the fun,"
Jaydin said, his gaze lingering on one spot for a moment before slowly moving away.
My best friend subtly pinched me, whispering, "Sonia, do you think Jaydin came here for you?"
I looked at the man through slightly hazy eyes.
He was a bit taller than Clayton, dressed in a black coat over a matching business suit.
His features were striking, his physique well-proportioned, and his legs—unbelievably long.
I squinted for a moment, then shook my head, saying, "No way, we haven't been in touch for years."
My best friend ignored me and directly called out to Jaydin, "Mr. Mcmillan, could you do me a favor and give Sonia a ride later?"
"We've all been drinking, and I don't trust a rideshare for her."
I looked up at Jaydin, stunned.
Jaydin's gaze also passed over the crowd and landed on my face.
After about two seconds, I saw him nod and say, "Okay."
"Thanks, Mr. Mcmillan."
My best friend sat back down with a smile, leaned close to my ear, and whispered, "Sonia, sleeping with one man for seven years? It's not worth it."
"If Clayton can fool around, why can't you start fresh?"
"And besides, a top-notch guy like Jaydin? You'd regret not taking the chance."
"How do you know he'd want to sleep with me?"
"The way he looks at you, he's practically undressing you with his eyes, babe."
"Trust me, I've dated eighteen guys. I've got more experience than you."
Jaydin drove me back to the hotel.
When we reached the hotel, I unbuckled my seatbelt and thanked him, "Thanks for driving me back tonight."
Jaydin turned his head to look at me, "No need to thank me."
I pushed open the car door, ready to get out, when Clayton's words from that day suddenly came to mind.
Before I knew it, I found myself saying, "Would you like to come up for a cup of tea?"
Jaydin kissed me in the elevator.
I was already tipsy, and with his dominant kiss, I nearly ran out of breath.
"There are cameras..." I panted, my cheeks flushed, my legs so weak I could barely stand, so I clung tightly to his waist.
Jaydin glanced at the camera, then turned, adjusted his angle, and kissed me again.
As we opened the door, he suddenly stopped me, "Sonia, if you regret it now, I can still stop."
"Regret what?"
I looked up at him, twirling his tie around my fingers, pulling him closer, "You've already kissed my lips swollen, and now you're talking about stopping?"
Jaydin suddenly smiled, reaching out to gently brush his thumb over my slightly swollen lips.
"Then even if you regret it later, it won't matter."
Our first time, Jaydin couldn't even wait until we reached the bedroom.
My back rubbed against the wall, making it sore, and I couldn't help but bite him softly, tears welling up:
"Jaydin, you're such a brute. Don't you know how to be gentle?"
His scorching palm supported my back as he pushed in with ferocity.
Finally, he gasped, kissing the side of my neck, "Sonia, I can barely hold back..."
