It wasn't long before the butler returned, trailing behind a girl.
That was my first time seeing Kylie Lozano.
And it was also the first time I learned that Romeo's younger sister was disabled.
Kylie didn't look too well, but she was genuinely afraid of her brother and had to sit down at the dining table.
Noticing my gaze, she glared over sharply: "What are you looking at?"
Actually, I hadn't been looking at her empty left sleeve; I just thought she looked very pretty, so I smiled at her: "Hello, I'm Aster."
"I don't care who you are," she really did have a bad temper, "What are you smiling about? Are you laughing at me because I don't have an arm? Get out! Get out!"
"Kylie." Romeo said quietly.
Kylie immediately fell silent, pouting angrily without saying anything.
"Enough, the food is getting cold, let's eat."
Whether at work or at home, Romeo had absolute authority.
The meal went relatively smoothly.
During the meal, I also reviewed the information about Kylie that the system had provided me.
Kylie was Romeo's biological younger sister, their parents had passed away early, and the two had grown up together, sharing a deep bond.
When they were ten years old, the siblings were unexpectedly kidnapped.
They didn't just sit there waiting to die but instead tried every means to escape. In order to gain a chance at survival, Kylie and Romeo ran in opposite directions.
Kylie wasn't as lucky as her brother.
She was caught.
And had one of her arms cut off to vent the kidnappers' anger on the Lozano Family.
Even though she was eventually rescued, her life was almost completely ruined.
Kylie's temper became increasingly erratic and unpredictable, sometimes even self-harming.
But Romeo was very good to his sister, almost always giving in to her wishes.
Perhaps he felt guilty and wanted to make up for it as much as possible.
As I was lost in thought, there was a sudden sound from the dining table.
"Clack."
Kylie slammed her chopsticks onto the table and stood up, heading upstairs.
"I'm done eating."
She had endured for so long, reaching her limit.
If she stayed at the dining table any longer, she feared she wouldn't be able to stop herself from flipping it over.
Romeo glanced at her, then raised a napkin to wipe his mouth.
He looked at me: "Don't worry about her, take your time eating. I'll go check on her."
He stood up and followed Kylie upstairs.
The large dining table was now only occupied by me and the elderly lady.
Being quite old, she couldn't eat much and soon left the table as well.
If I could still eat under these circumstances, my heart would be too big.
I sat idly in my chair, bored.
After waiting for a while, I was about to get up and wander around.
Suddenly, loud arguing erupted upstairs, accompanied by the sound of things being smashed.
I looked nervously towards the top of the stairs.
Before long, Kylie came down the stairs quickly, not even glancing at me, heading straight out the door.
"You try going to see Jorge again today?"
Romeo's voice was low and carried some anger.
Kylie stopped, her body trembling slightly from anger.
I was stunned.
What did he just say?
Jorge...
Was it the Jorge I knew?
