Chapter 12 (Edric POV)

　　The place I knew Aurora was in the hospital.
　　She often came to visit Zane's mother, and over time, the doctors in charge of the mother's case got to know her.
　　Many doctors praised her privately, saying that the Bryar family had found a good daughter-in-law.
　　She did everything herself, tirelessly.
　　Doctors who knew Zane said, "Zane is already married, but his wife isn't her."
　　Everyone's expressions changed instantly.
　　But I was curious. What had she experienced that a trace of unrelenting sorrow always lingered in her eyes?
　　I took the initiative to get closer to Zane.
　　I discussed his mother's condition with him.
　　We were about the same age and quickly became friends.
　　One day, Zane invited me to his company.
　　There was a domineering woman bullying Aurora at the company.
　　Aurora seemed accustomed to it.
　　I stared at her swollen arm and couldn't help reminding her to apply medicine.

　　Aurora had an inexplicable attraction for me.
　　When I had free time, I couldn't help but think of her.
　　I tried my best and took the initiative to set up a blind date with her.
　　But I didn't expect Zane to show up again.
　　It seemed that wherever Aurora was, Zane could find her.
　　Zane seemed to know that I liked Aurora.
　　He insulted her in front of me, using the vilest language.
　　I was stunned at that moment.
　　I couldn't understand why Aurora had to endure so much suffering.
　　I entered into a standoff with Zane.
　　I said, "I won't marry anyone but Aurora."
　　Zane was furious and forcibly took her away.
