Asia had lost weight.
Her cheeks were slightly sunken, and her eyes were bloodshot.
Despite this, she was still beautiful, with a small face like a doll’s and eyes like those of a celebrity torn from a magazine page.
In fact, back at the orphanage, Asia was the prettiest among all the children.
Almost every family that came to adopt would immediately set their sights on her. If she hadn’t been so picky, she would have been adopted long ago.
And perhaps that’s why she was especially unwilling to accept defeat.
Step by step, Asia approached and stopped in front of me. She was wearing high heels and was a little taller than me, who wore flats for business meetings.
Asia said, "I’m pregnant. It’s Cayden’s."
I replied, "Is that so? Then you shouldn’t wear such high heels."
Asia stared at my face, trying to find any sign of emotional fluctuation.
But she found nothing.
So, she broke down first:
"Destiney, what other tricks do you have?"
"How did you manage to steal Cayden from me? Clearly, he should like me in this life! You should be the person he hates most, and he shouldn’t leave you a penny!"
"Why? Why, after I studied all the ways you won his affection in the previous life and followed them, is he still growing colder toward me?"
"What other tricks are you hiding from me?"
I looked at the sobbing and broken Asia for a moment, then sighed:
"Move aside, I have another client to visit."
Asia looked up at me. "Destiney, you’re not going to tell me, right?"
"It doesn’t matter."
In that instant, I realized something, but it was too late.
Asia stepped forward, tightly embraced me, and then leaned backward.
We tumbled down the stairs together.
With a loud crash, Asia and I landed at the bottom of the stairs.
My head probably hit the railing, and everything went black.
Sharp pain shot through my knee, and I couldn’t tell which leg could still move.
Amidst the chaos, I only heard Asia cry out, "Cayden."
Struggling to lift my head, I saw the figure standing before us, blurry.
Cayden.
Blood spread from under Asia’s skirt.
She cried, "Cayden, our child is gone."
"It was your sister who pushed me. She said your child would take away her share of the inheritance…"
Cayden’s face turned ashen.
After a long pause, he bent down…
and lifted me up.
Asia’s eyes widened in shock.
She looked at Cayden in disbelief and called out mournfully, "Cayden…"
Cayden said coldly,
"Asia, you disgust me."
Asia began to tremble.
It was her nightmare.
In the previous life, Cayden often said these words to her:
"Asia, you disgust me."
In this life, the choices and the process were different.
But why was the outcome the same?
Asia screamed as if she had gone mad:
"Why?"
"I made the right choice, the right choice!"
"Why, no matter what choice I make, is it always this result…"
I didn’t hear the rest of what she said.
The dizziness in the back of my head grew stronger.
The world gradually sank into darkness.
