Chapter 17

　　It wasn't until I got home, standing at the door, that I could finally recover from Edmund's brother's words. I couldn't understand.
　　"Survival" should be the direction of evolution for all species.
　　But the werewolf race had evolved in a very strange direction.
　　"Mates"
　　"Mating season"
　　"If they lose their mate, they die"...
　　These things, which seemed clearly harmful to the werewolves, weren't eliminated in their evolution. Instead, they had become more intense and extreme.
　　It was all so surreal.
　　I couldn't understand.
　　I stood at the door for a long time before finally pulling out my keys to unlock the door.
　　Edmund was still in his wolf form, eating a bag of cookies with the dog. They almost fought over the last one.
　　"Edmund."
　　I called to him.
　　His pure black form froze for a moment before he shifted back into his human form, looking at me helplessly.
　　"The wolf form is more comfortable. I didn't know you were back... I didn't mean to, I won't change again."
　　He said cautiously:
　　"Baby, just treat me like a human. Don't think of me as a wolf."
　　"Werewolf, werewolf... wolf is just an adjective. I'm still human at heart... You can't reject me just because of this."
　　He kept squeezing his palm nervously, waiting for my response. I gave him a complicated look and said:
　　"I'm hungry. Is there any food left from what you made?
　　"After eating, I have a few things I want to ask you."
