Since there were others nearby, Sidney didn't want to argue with him. She shot him a glare and took the two large bags upstairs. She shoved them deep into the closet, sealing them away. After all, she wouldn't wear them, and he couldn't do anything about it.
After tidying up, Sidney waited until Jayson entered the study before heading downstairs. She helped the butler prepare the ingredients for dinner, and then she heard the butler mention that Jayson wasn't dining at home tonight. Sidney finally breathed a sigh of relief.
However, when she thought about him going out again, probably to the club, she had the butler find her a thermos and prepared something for him. While chatting, the butler mentioned that her daughter loved the cakes Sidney made, praising her skills. Sidney then told her that she actually held a B-level certification in cuisine and had once learned some Western cooking from foreign chefs.
The butler was surprised, saying she was simply showing off in front of an expert. Sidney politely replied that while she had studied cooking, it had been so long that she was out of practice. Moreover, she was forced into it by her family, so she never really applied herself.
Now familiar with her, the butler casually asked why her family had forced her to learn cooking. Sidney realized she had let it slip.
"Well... my family wanted me to take some bridal courses so I could marry well in the future." Sidney said this, and while it wasn't untrue, the definition of "marrying well" was really determined by Shelby and her father.
The butler smiled but didn't speak, busy with marinating the meat. Sidney glanced at the marinated meat and thought about the recipe book. She asked, "My mother-in-law is a great cook, isn't she?"
"Yes." "Yes! Madam learned from several chefs and mastered cuisines from around the world. She could even make desserts that no one else could manage. Master once said that even restaurants couldn't compare to the meals she made. It's a pity that she passed away early. After that, Master and the young master almost never had meals together, and their relationship has been distant ever since."
"Well... how did my mother-in-law pass away?" Sidney couldn't resist her curiosity.
"I'm not sure if I should be telling you this, but you can ask the young master. If he's willing to talk, he'll tell you."
"Oh..." Sidney thought this matter was too mysterious. Why couldn't they tell her? The more secretive they were, the more curious she became.
After marinating the meat, Sidney glanced at the seasonings and said, "Can you add a bit more pepper salt?"
The butler, now aware of Sidney's cooking skills, obediently followed her instructions. "Sure."
Jayson came out of the study, grabbed the car keys, and was about to leave. Sidney grabbed the thermos and ran after him, tugging at his jacket sleeve.
He stopped and turned to look at her.
"This is for you to sober up, if you really must drink... just think of it as a reward for the things you bought for me today."
Jayson glanced at the thermos in her hand and laughed with amusement, "I spent tens of thousands, and this is the reward?!" He took it from her.
"Well, it's my heartfelt gesture." Sidney knew that what she made was insignificant compared to the money he spent, but she genuinely cared about his well-being.
Jayson suddenly smiled in a suggestive way, leaning close to her right ear and whispering, "If you really want to thank me, put on the lingerie tonight..."
Sidney lowered her head so much that her face almost disappeared into her neck. She felt like her whole body was on fire, starting from her right ear. "You! Don't even bother coming back!"
Sidney couldn't help but think to herself, *This woman is so easy to mess with!
He thought to himself, this woman is so fun to tease!
He swung the keychain, whistling as he walked toward the parking lot.
