Sidney first knocked on the door of the largest office next to the manager's, and the lady who had led her there reacted strongly. She immediately panicked, grabbing Sidney's arm and asking, "What are you doing?"
Sidney glanced at her without saying anything and continued knocking.
"Hey! You can't go in there." She tried to stop Sidney from knocking.
Sidney ignored her, and not long after, the office door actually opened. The lady, frightened, immediately lowered her head and apologized to the person who entered.
Sidney looked directly at Jayson and said, "I need to talk to you."
Jayson's voice was emotionless. He instructed the lady to leave first, then opened the door for Sidney to enter.
He sat leisurely in the main chair on the sofa in the office, crossing his legs, waiting for Sidney to speak.
Sidney stood beside him, hesitating for a few seconds on how to begin, hoping Jayson would actually listen to her request.
"I... I came here today to talk to you. I heard... no, I mean, the bidding for your resort project is happening this morning. My family asked me to speak to you, knowing it's impossible for you and the other shareholders to give the project to the Calderon family. I just want to ask if you could give us a little hint... like a low bid..."
Jayson sneered coldly a few times, with a tone of disdain and icy venom, "Is something wrong with your heads in the Calderon family? The point of a bidding process is for companies to compete. There's no reason to go through all this trouble just to let the Calderon family win the bid first. Everything must go through the proper procedure."
"You know the situation with the Calderon family, right? I'm not hiding it from you, which is why my father wants to cooperate with you." Sidney said softly, almost pleading.
"What's it to me if your family went bankrupt?"
"I'm your legitimate wife now, can you help me just a little?"
"Ms. Sidney, do you think this is helping just a little? And beyond the legal status, have you fulfilled your duties as a wife?"
"..." Sidney took a deep breath and said, "I understand. I'll be good from now on. Whatever you say goes."
"I've seen plenty of women who are obedient for money. Why should I care about you?"
Sidney felt pathetic enough, not getting angry, trying to be calm, but Jayson was still so domineering. She had no idea what to do. She stood there, frozen, the atmosphere so tense that it made her feel cold from head to toe, unsure of how to end the situation.
"Come here." Jayson didn't look at her.
Sidney was stunned for a moment, checking around to make sure there was no one else. He must have been calling her, so she slowly walked over and stood by his feet.
Jayson reached out and pulled her, causing her to lose her balance and fall onto his lap. Sidney was startled, but she didn't dare to make a sound. She bit her lip tightly, nervously staring at him.
Jayson lazily propped himself up, tilting his head to closely examine her face. He stared for about ten seconds, making Sidney uneasy as she had no idea what he was looking at.
Jayson's face was dangerously close to hers, and she held her breath, unable to move or resist. It wasn't until she felt something warm and damp gently press against her tightly sealed lips that she dared to glance down. To her shock, Jayson was licking her lips. It wasn't a kiss, nor was there any tenderness—just a predator's touch, like a leopard tasting its prey, savoring her essence as if she were a mere sensation to be consumed.
"Don't purse your lips." He stared at her lips and said forcefully.
Sidney obediently complied. After Jayson licked her lips, he lightly sucked on them. The quiet office was filled only with the sound of their lips meeting.
Sidney was very nervous, subtly gripping his suit jacket.
Jayson buried his head in her neck, exhaling against her skin, and said, "Since you said you'll be good from now on, then show me now and please me."
His saliva lingered on her lips, a reminder of his presence. She could tell he'd had more than a few drinks, but he wasn't drunk yet. The demand wasn't born of desire—it was meant to humiliate her, to see the defiance in her give way. It was about breaking her, watching as the usual sharpness in her words dissolved under his control.
