Eulalia read out the second comment, and Grey listened attentively.
The next day.
The third day was the same.
On the fourth day, Grey and Eulalia went out to buy groceries. Along the way, Eulalia spoke less, and Grey felt that her mood wasn't very good.
On their way back with the groceries, they ran into Eulalia's family at the entrance of the building.
Eulalia's expression immediately turned sour, like she had just eaten something disgusting.
Her mother came with her two sons. Upon seeing Eulalia, she became enraged. "So, you're finally willing to come out, huh?! You bxxtch!!"
When she noticed the tall man behind Eulalia, she remembered him from last time, and her eyes showed some wariness. The two brothers also trembled slightly.
However, the mother wasn't afraid anymore. As soon as she saw her daughter, she seemed to gain some courage.
"Well, well! This is the man you found? Some thug! Do you know how he bullied your brothers last time? You ungrateful brat, break up with him and come back with me!"
Eulalia sneered, "Go back with you? Are you expecting me to serve you when you treat me this poorly?"
"Eulalia, you always think the worst of us," Eulalia's younger brother grumbled, frowning. "Do you not see how hard Mom has worked to raise us all these years?"
The older brother also spoke up. "To be honest, no one abused you at home. We've been good to you, so why have you become like this?"
"Shut up, both of you! You're killing me!" Eulalia's eyes widened in anger, every inch of her body bristling with sharpness. She let out a cold laugh. "She's had a hard time taking care of you. She's been really good to you. I've been working and doing chores for her since I was little—doing the dirty, tiring work, with no time to play, no toys. I might as well have been picked up off the street! If I 'really' had been, at least I could accept it! Can't you see, you blind fools?"
She was her mother's biological daughter, and this was the deepest hurt.
They were all her children, but the favoritism was so extreme.
The tears from all these years of grievance were countless, and even now, she couldn't escape. The pain brought by her original family was something she could never forget, something that couldn't be let go of.
Eulalia took a deep breath, not wanting to show her vulnerability in front of them. She grabbed Grey's arm and said, "Yes, he's my boyfriend, and he's naturally strong. If you want him to hit you again, feel free to try. Now get lost!"
Grey looked down at the woman's hand gripping his arm. He didn't pull away, but instead asked seriously, "How about I throw them to their deaths?"
The brothers' legs trembled as they remembered the terror from last time, when this man had lifted the 170-pound one of them with just one hand...
Eulalia wanted to do that in her heart, but of course, it couldn't be done. Taking advantage of the her family's shock, she quickly dragged Grey into the building. "In the human world, it's not allowed. Just ignore them."
They were at the entrance of the building now, and she was afraid that Grey would do something that humans couldn't, and someone might snap a photo and post it online, causing trouble.
Grey turned back and glanced at the people at the entrance. His eyes deepened, and it seemed like something passed through them.
Eulalia didn't notice and continued to warn him, "I don't know what you're capable of, but remember, don't use your abilities in public like this. It's dangerous, you understand?"
"Mm, understood."
He already knew.
However, this woman, having just experienced the pain of her family, is already worrying about him...
The feeling of being cared for was a bit strange, but he didn't mind it.
Back home.
Eulalia became much quieter, and it seemed that the appearance of her family had affected her.
Grey pressed his lips together, then spoke up, "Today... aren't you going to read the long reviews?"
Reading them might make you feel a bit better, he thought.
Eulalia waved her hand, her mood seeming to darken even more. "Don't bring it up. I got a lot of criticism today."
Grey blinked, surprised. "Why? They were criticizing you?"
Eulalia sighed. "In our line of work, it's not like we're always getting glowing reviews from angels. Some people just don't like what I've written, or I missed the mark and hit a nerve. So they lash out."
"Any job that involves asking for money isn't easy. That's perfectly normal."
Grey furrowed his brows. It might, as she said, be quite normal. But for some reason, he felt a surge of anger.
She was clearly a good person...
In his heart, she was very, very good.
Grey felt his anger intensifying.
Eulalia dragged her tired body back to the room and started working.
The more Grey thought about it, the angrier he became, and he stepped out.
In Capital, out in the wild.
With one hand, he lifted a tall man and took step by step towards the cliff.
"Ah, ah, I can't do it, please, please!" The brothers of Eulalia cried, their legs giving out.
"Didn't I make myself clear last time?" Grey asked calmly.
As his words fell, he forcefully threw the eldest brother's hand upwards, and the elder brother felt as if he were flying. The next second, he began to fall.
"Ahh!" He was going to fall off the cliff! He was going to die!
Just as he thought it was over, his legs were yanked back. Grey's expression was emotionless, as if tossing something amusing, he threw the two brothers upwards again, and they fell, constantly thinking they were going to die before being caught again...
On the wind-swept, perilous cliff edge, the brothers had already lost control of their bladders.
"I won't do it again! We'll never look for her again!"
"We won't do it! Mom, help!"
Then, the two brothers were thrown into the river, pulled out every time they were on the verge of suffocating.
Grey gave a low howl into the air.
One by one, wild wolves appeared.
They surrounded the brothers, growling, wanting to devour them.
The brothers were terrified out of their minds. "We won't do it! We swear!"
"How do I know if you're telling the truth?" Grey stood aside, wiping his hands with a leaf.
"Go ahead, let them bite."
As soon as he spoke, the wolves charged.
That day was the most painful day of the brothers' lives. They passed out many times, no fatal injuries, but their bodies were covered in wounds.
"If you come looking for her again, you'll be feeding them." Grey stroked one of the larger wild wolves, his face indifferent.
The brothers swore repeatedly and ran away, pissing themselves in fear.
The wild wolves weren't part of the werewolf pack but rather wolves from the human world. Grey often went hunting in the mountains, and whatever food he didn't eat, he'd give to them. They followed his commands.
The phone rang.
Eulalia's voice came through. "Where have you been? Meal is already."
Grey replied with a "oh" and, to his surprise, he could see a hint of obedience in his expression.
He jumped and sprinted, rushing back to the city so quickly that his body became a blur.
At the dining table.
Eulalia ate her meal, while Grey ate his meat.
Her mood improved, and she became more talkative.
That evening, she received a message from an unknown number: "Eulalia, we won't come looking for you again, we'll never come again. Live your own life well. We'll take care of mom and keep her from bothering you."
Eulalia was a little stunned. Why had they changed their attitude? Did they have some other motive?
What she didn't expect was that, indeed, from that day on, her family never came looking for her again.
Life started to settle back into its usual rhythm.
Eulalia, feeling bored, began to envy those who had partners.
She also wished she had a partner.
She had been indulging in food recently and had gained weight. She was now 125 pounds.
Starting today! Weight loss! Finding a partner!!
She started her weight loss plan again.
