The Nightblades were preparing to leave.
They didn't live in Luna Palace.
Brigham stood up, "Alright, I should get going too—I need to prepare a gift. Father went too far today!"
Sir Roderick smiled helplessly, "How is this my fault?"
Angelina flipped her hair back, stood up, and took a few steps forward, her heels making crisp sounds on the floor. Suddenly, she looked back toward the second floor, a smirk tugging at her lips. "Let's host a family dinner at the old mansion tomorrow. Before then, feel free to prepare your gifts."
Angelina walked in front, tall with long legs, her features sharp and beautiful with an aggressive allure. Before she even reached her car, several young male werewolves scrambled to open the door for her, their faces flushed.
"Miss Angelina, please get in!"
Angelina chuckled, "Thanks, you little cuties."
Bruce glanced at her, then quickly looked down, blushing and too shy to look again.
Lightblaze was also embarrassed, stepping back to the side.
Angelina got in her car and drove away.
They watched until her car was out of sight.
Bruce said softly, "Alpha Roderick's sister is so beautiful. Her future mate must be really strong."
Lightblaze nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! I heard Miss Angelina is even better at fighting than the male werewolves. She keeps winning first place in the female werewolf hunting competitions."
"So amazing! So cool! So beautiful!"
"As expected of the Alpha Roderick's sister, so strong, so amazing!"
Bruce looked a bit down, clenching his hand at his side and staying quiet.
Lightblaze didn't seem affected.
For werewolves like them, smaller and not outstanding hunters, who don't do well in the human world, it's best not to dream too big to have a mate like that.
Black sighed deeply. "If I hadn't been scammed in an online romance last time by a rough guy, I'd have a girlfriend by now."
"Pfft..."
"Hahaha!"
"Black, every time you mention that, I can't help but laugh."
——
In Catriona's room.
After finishing her washing up, she came out to find it pitch dark outside.
"Sweetie, come take a bath."
Cedric transformed into a chubby wolf cub and plopped into the tub. Catriona squeezed some body wash and lathered it into white bubbles on her son.
"Did you have fun today? Do you still want to eat rabbit?"
"Awoo awoo!" The little wolf cub nodded.
"I heard from your dad that he's going to buy some rabbits to put in the backyard, so you can catch them yourself. It'll be good hunting practice too."
The little wolf cub was thrilled. "Awoo, awooo awooo!"
"Stay still, let Mommy rinse the bubbles off."
"And remember, those people downstairs today are your closest family after me and your dad. Do you understand? They'll love you and help you."
From what she could see, the Nightblade really liked her son, and thinking of this made Catriona feel relieved and happy.
She smiled softly. "Sweetie, you're the cutest. Everyone loves you and fights to hold you."
"The woman in the red dress—she is your Aunt."
"The blonde boy who wanted to hold you first—he is your Uncle. Next time you see him, remember to greet them, okay?"
She hoped her son would spend more time with the Nightblade—they were his relatives, after all. Having grown up isolated herself, she knew how precious it was to have a loving family.
To put it grimly, if something ever happened to her, he would still have other family members to rely on and wouldn't be so alone.
So far, the Nightblade seemed wonderful.
Madam Nightblade was warm and kind, and Sir Nightblade was gentle and refined. It was strange—they'd raised someone as difficult and unpredictable as Roderick?
With the hair dryer, she fluffed up her little cub, turning him into a fragrant, fluffy bundle.
"You're so cute, sweetie. Mommy will carry you out." She leaned down and kissed his round little head.
As soon as they left the bathroom, she saw Roderick standing at the door, holding a bottle of cold spring water.
Roderick's voice was cool. "Isn't the cub too heavy for you to carry?"
The little wolf cub yelped, "Awoo awooo! You're the one who's fat!"
He snuggled further into his mother's arms, whining as if to express his grievance.
Catriona quickly reassured him. "No, no, you aren't fat. You are the cutest."
