He continued to look at her and said, "Alison, even if you don't believe what I'm saying, you should at least believe what Livia said."
Alison's tone seemed to soften slightly as she continued, "Livia is no longer here. There's no way to verify anything now. How can I believe...?"
A sudden recollection pierced her thoughts—Livia's words, uttered on the brink of her accident, "Alison, should I ever leave this world, in times of distress, seek my love, Xavier. He'll aid you, promise me you will."
"Alison, do you believe my words?" Xavier probed again.
Alison pivoted, acquiescing, "Yes, I believe you!"
Xavier immediately pulled out a business card from his wallet and said, "Alison, here's my card. If you encounter any difficulties, feel free to reach out to me!"
Alison looked at the business card in her hand and realized he was the vice manager of this company. Perhaps she could ask him for help since he had offered.
Summoning courage, she faced Xavier, confessing, "Xavier, I'm unemployed. Might you assist me in finding work?"
Alison, no problem! What do you want to do?" Xavier smiled, seizing the opportunity.
"I'm open to anything," Alison replied. She didn't want to remain unemployed. Although she preferred to pursue a creative path, finding a stable job at this moment seemed to depend entirely on luck.
Xavier pretended to ponder for a moment before saying, "Alison, come to my company tomorrow and report to me."
Alison felt like she was dreaming—finding a job settled in just one sentence!
No wonder Livia had always said to seek his help whenever something came up.
They walked out of the cafe, yet Xavier was already plotting again.
