Mia was so startled by Sophia's actions that she nearly lost her wits. "Sophia, are you crazy?"
Ever since the confession incident at their high school graduation, Mia knew that Sophia couldn’t handle alcohol—she was the type to get hopelessly drunk.
And now she had downed a whole glass?
"I'm not... hic... crazy!"
Mia sighed, putting a hand to her forehead.
Great, there was no saving her now.
Seeing this, the classmates stopped teasing Sophia and let Mia help her to a seat to rest.
Just then, a classmate received a phone call and then said mysteriously, "We have another big shot from our class coming soon!"
Someone asked: "Who?"
"Remember Evan?"
"Of course!"
He was the famous bookworm of their class.
"How many girls did he reject back then?"
As soon as this topic came up, some of the female classmates began to complain.
"What did you say? Evan was not only handsome but also consistently top of the class. He was the dream guy for many girls."
"Exactly, but he was too aloof. I gave him a love letter once, and he rejected it without even looking."
The female classmates looked wistful as they reminisced about their teenage years.
Sophia, who was dazed, immediately stood up upon hearing Evan's name. "Is Evan here? Where is he?"
A male classmate saw Sophia's excitement despite her drunken state and started teasing again. "Sophia, weren’t you into Leonard? Have you switched your affection to Evan now?"
Sophia’s mind was a mess; her reason had long been tossed aside.
She stood up, swaying as she walked over, "No, I haven’t switched my affection. I’ve always..."
Before she could finish, she was interrupted.
"Evan!"
"It really is Evan!"
"What brings both of our class heartthrobs here? My poor heart!"
Evan?
Sophia squinted and saw Evan standing coldly at the door.
She suddenly started giggling foolishly and walked toward him.
By the time Mia realized what was happening, Sophia was already in front of Evan.
Sophia wrapped her arms around Evan’s arm affectionately, calling out softly, "Honey, why are you here?"
The room fell silent.
Mia was horrified by her words. Seeing Evan’s face darken, she quickly moved forward to pull Sophia away, but Evan’s deep voice stopped her:
"Did you drink?"
Drink?
"Yes, Sophia had a glass," Mia said.
Evan’s eyes narrowed instantly, "A glass?"
Last time she had only taken a sip and got so drunk that she threw herself at him. This time, she had a whole glass?
If he hadn’t come, what kind of things might have happened?
Evan took a deep breath, suppressing his anger, and asked Sophia, "Didn’t I tell you never to drink again?"
"Hmm? I think... you did."
"So, why did you drink again?"
"I... I forgot..."
Mia's mind was a hurricane of emotions.
She glanced at the other classmates, who looked as bewildered and curious as she did.
Could it be that they really had some sort of secret?
Finally, one classmate couldn’t hold back his curiosity any longer and asked, "Evan, what’s your relationship with Sophia?"
