Afterward, Aria did not receive any scolding from her roommates. Of course, they didn’t have time to scold her; they were all busy fawning over Leonard.
Leonard, maintaining a stiff smile, tried to politely extricate himself from their grasp, but the girls were too strong, and he failed. Finally, he shot a pleading look at Aria.
Aria wasn’t sure what to do. After thinking for a moment, she found a solution. “You shouldn’t get too close to Leonard. If the paparazzi take a picture, you’ll be caught in the crossfire. Think of the online trolls.”
The mention of internet trolls made the girls back off immediately. They even checked outside the window, looking for hidden photographers.
Leonard sighed in relief and gave Aria a grateful look. Aria nodded, then continued, “Don’t be fooled by the disguise. Those paparazzi are like secret agents, hiding in places you wouldn’t expect. One snap, and it’s all over the internet.”
“Really? That scary?” They gulped.
“Absolutely,” Aria affirmed.
The roommates stopped crowding Leonard, though they still wanted to talk to him. Leonard pulled out four concert tickets. “Since you like me so much, here are some tickets to my concert. VIP seats, just for you.”
“Wow!” The roommates eagerly took the tickets, thrilled to see their idol perform live.
As the sky darkened, the roommates reluctantly left.
Once they were gone, Leonard collapsed onto the sofa. “Aria, your friends are aweful!”
“What brings you here?” Aria lightly tapped his leg, which was draped over the arm of the sofa.
“It’s about the movie selection. My manager wanted me to reconsider, probably hoping I’d choose a drama. But I think you’re right; a film is a better choice.”
“Definitely go with the movie. Trust me,” Aria nodded. The movies she mentioned were award winners. Leonard might even become an award-winning actor because of them.
Soon after, the Mrs. Harrison returned. Nathan had been busy with work lately. Aria had a feeling he was up to something big, but since she didn’t understand business matters, she didn’t ask.
Since Leonard was back, the family went out for dinner. Leonard ended up staying with Aria for seven days. As a popular star, a seven-day break was rare. With her friends keep visiting her house to take videos of Leonard daily, Aria had no choice but to kick Leonard out for some peace.
Time flew by, and Aria’s belly grew larger. As her due date approached, she was admitted to the hospital. The closer she got to delivery, the more nervous she became, prompting her to call Nathan.
“Honey, I think my belly is hurting. Am I going into labor?”
The parents weren’t around, and she wanted to talk to Nathan about her pain.
“Sweetheart, press the call button for the nurse. I’m already on my way,” Nathan said urgently.
Aria followed his instructions and pressed the button, but she couldn’t stop herself from crying. “Honey, I’m so scared.”
“Don’t be scared. I’ll be there soon...” Nathan’s words were cut off by a loud crash.
“Honey? What happened? Don’t scare me!” Aria’s thoughts immediately went to a car accident, and she felt her world spinning.
