Chapter 43

　　Susie was startled.
　　Her eyes widened as she looked at him.
　　Lawrence was fuming, but seeing her look so innocent and bewildered, his anger dissipated.
　　"Let's go home!"
　　He turned back to the wheel, ready to drive off.
　　Susie snapped out of it and glared at him, "What are you doing? If you want to go home, go by yourself. I'm not stopping you. Get out of the car; I'll go by myself!"
　　Lawrence turned, his gaze sharp as it pierced through her.
　　His presence was intimidating, and Susie felt a bit scared. She pouted, "I already promised Cyrus I'd meet him. I can't break my word!"
　　Lawrence wanted to strangle her.
　　"Then change the location!" he growled through gritted teeth.
　　Susie glanced at the man with a dark, brooding face and blinked. Could he be jealous?
　　She looked again, and it did seem like he was full of jealousy.
　　"If you want to go, change the place. There's nothing to bargain with!" Lawrence's voice was filled with frustration as he saw her staring at him.
　　Susie pouted and looked ahead, "If it's not at the A Restaurant, I won't enjoy my meal. Their pan-seared foie gras with truffle are delicious!"
　　No negotiation!
　　Lawrence's chest heaved with suppressed anger before he calmed down. "Buckle up!" he ordered.
　　The car sped off.
　　Susie let out a small sigh of relief, her heart feeling unexpectedly light.
