Chapter 41

　　Susie had just returned to her office when Rachel stormed in, demanding answers.
　　"Ms. Morris, why are you firing me?"
　　Susie turned slightly, staring at Rachel's pretty face for a few seconds.
　　Rachel felt uneasy under her gaze. Could Susie have discovered her secret? She had been so careful.
　　"Rachel, do you think you're smart and everyone else is an idiot?" Susie put down the pruning shears, leaned against the desk, crossed her arms, and looked arrogantly at Rachel's changing expression.
　　Rachel's eyes darted nervously. She forced herself to ask, "Even if you're firing me, you need a reason!"
　　"The fact that I'm the owner of this company isn't enough to fire a lowly assistant like you?"
　　Susie sneered.
　　In this time, the data from marketing had been handed over and everything was in order.
　　It didn't matter whether Rachel was here or not.
　　A company this large couldn't run without her?
　　Ridiculous!
　　"Ms. Morris, you're such a petty woman!" Rachel spat, her face twisted in anger.
　　Susie looked at her as if unfazed, a faint, mocking smile on her face, which made Rachel feel even more humiliated.
　　"Compared to your treachery, I think I'm a saint! Falsifying contracts, helping another company alter data, and committing contract fraud, that's criminal behavior!"
　　Rachel's face turned deathly pale.
　　She looked at Susie in disbelief.
　　"Surprised that even a useless heiress like me can spot discrepancies in a contract?" Susie mocked, having been trained by her father from a young age to never be taken advantage of in contractual matters.
　　"Are you leaving on your own, or should I send a lawyer's letter?"
　　Susie straightened up, her gaze icy as she stared at Rachel.
　　Rachel, realizing she was outmatched, backed down, "I'll leave on my own."
　　If she received a lawyer's letter, she might never find another good job.
　　"Remember, don't covet things that don't belong to you. If I see you again, I won't be so nice."
　　Susie warned Rachel's retreating figure.
　　The lawyer's letter was just a scare tactic, but Rachel backed down quickly.
　　So much for her supposed cleverness.
　　Susie scoffed.
