"Lawrence, did you do this on purpose, or are you blind?"
Susie slammed a contract on Lawrence's desk. He picked it up and looked it over, "What's wrong with this?"
It was a contract he had signed. But now that Susie was CEO, it needed her signature to be valid.
Susie scoffed, "Are you farsighted? Need a magnifying glass to see clearly?"
Lawrence's face twitched, feeling her disdain for his age.
"Explain it!"
Susie saw his serious expression and hesitated, pointing to a page in the middle, "Here, the profit percentage changed from 5% to 11%!"
If she hadn't caught it, Morris would have lost billions. What profit would there be?
This was a blatant attempt to sabotage her.
Luckily, she double-checked.
Lawrence's face darkened, understanding the issue.
"When I signed, it was still a single-digit percentage."
Susie narrowed her eyes, staring at him.
Meeting her skeptical gaze, Lawrence felt a pang of bitterness, "Do you think I'd joke about company profits?"
Susie frowned. If it wasn't Lawrence, it had to be Rachel.
After Lawrence signed, Rachel must have swapped the pages, betting Susie wouldn't check and just sign.
But she lost this gamble.
"Fire her!"
She had tolerated Rachel long enough.
Rachel dared to play tricks with company matters. She was a hazard that had to go.
"I would have fired her sooner if you hadn't insisted on keeping her!"
Lawrence, face dark, instructed Finnegan to handle it.
"Are you blaming me?"
"No, but now you have a legitimate reason to fire her."
People with ill intentions would eventually slip up.
Lawrence pulled Susie close, ignoring her struggles, holding her tight.
"Shall we have dinner tonight?"
They hadn't had a proper meal together in a long time.
"Mr. Sutton, I'm meeting someone tonight. I'm busy!"
Susie fiddled with the buttons on his coat, initials of their names engraved on them.
She pushed him away and walked out.
Lawrence watched her bright smile, squinting, "With who?"
"Cyrus!"
Susie didn't look back, missing his dark, angry expression.
"Where?"
He gritted out, but Susie only left him with her retreating figure.
Damn, did she really think they were divorced?
Leaving him to meet another man?
Lawrence's chest ached with anger.
