"Susie, have you divorced Lawrence?"
Susie visited her father that evening, and David suddenly brought it up.
She paused, then nodded. "Yes."
"Have you thought it through?" David looked at his daughter, knowing she could be impulsive.
She always meant what she said.
"I've thought it through!" The divorce was real.
She forced a smile, but her heart felt no joy. When she saw the divorce certificate, her eyes had filled with tears.
She had planned to tell her father later, but he already knew.
"Dad, don't worry about me. I'm fine!" She took her father's hand and gently massaged it.
David sighed weakly, "Lawrence is still very good. With him taking care of you, I can be at ease!"
He could see his daughter still had feelings for him.
"If there wasn't any crisis between you two. Just remarry after some time!"
Susie looked at her father in shock. They had just divorced, and he was already talking about remarrying?
"Dad, do you trust him that much? What if he's just pretending?"
"Don't you trust your own judgment?" David saw that she was mostly acting out of spite and smiled. "Lawrence is a rare talent. With him at the helm of the company, I have great confidence. He's also part of our family, isn't he?"
"We have been divorced, yet still family?" Susie huffed, "Aren't you afraid he'll ruin the company again?"
She carefully watched her father's reaction, relieved to see him smile.
"If he wanted to bankrupt Morris, we couldn't stop him. He didn't need to merge his company with Morris. You don't understand business matters."
"He did it for you. His feelings for you are genuine."
Susie looked at her father and asked quietly, "Don't you blame him?"
Still speaking well of him.
"Of course I do! But considering how well he's taken care of my daughter all these years, I forgive him!"
As long as Susie was happy, nothing else mattered.
Seeing her father was understanding, Susie felt relieved.
"Dad, once you're better, let's go on a trip!"
"Sure, you need a break, a chance to relax. Susie, don't overthink things, okay?" David advised.
"I understand, Dad!" Susie leaned on her father's shoulder, a small smile on her lips.
She was glad her father was okay.
