Overwhelmed with rage and sorrow, Susie attacked Rachel fiercely.
"It's all your fault! I'll kill you, you wretched woman!"
"Ahhh..."
Rachel, unable to match Susie's strength, was left with a swollen face and bleeding mouth.
Seeing Susie's wild eyes, Rachel grew frightened, calling for help.
Lawrence, hearing the commotion before reaching the door, rushed in.
Seeing Susie and Rachel fighting, his eyes widened, and he hurried to pull them apart.
"Susie!"
"Get away!"
Susie, relentless, continued to swing at Rachel. She had learned some martial arts, and her punches landed heavily on Rachel.
"Lawrence, help!"
Rachel dodged Susie's attacks, crying out to Lawrence, but this only provoked Susie more. She was blinded by anger and pain.
"You took my baby, bitch. You took my baby’s life!"
"Susie!" Lawrence, seeing her sudden madness, felt his heart ache. He quickly grabbed her, holding her tightly from behind.
"Let go of me!" Susie screamed, scratching at Lawrence and kicking at Rachel.
"You and your mistress deserve to die!"
Lawrence's heart ached deeply, holding her tightly. "Susie, stop this. Calm down!"
Seeing Rachel's unrecognizable face, he wouldn't have known it was her if she hadn't spoken. "If you don't want to die, get out!"
"Lawrence..."
"Get out!" Lawrence roared.
Rachel trembled in fear and quickly scrambled to her feet, running out.
How did Lawrence get here? Wasn't he at the company just moments ago?
"Stop, don't you dare leave!" Susie, in her agitation, struggled so violently that Lawrence almost couldn't hold her.
"Susie, stop this madness!" he shouted sternly. "Do you want to kill someone and end up ruining your own life?"
Susie stopped struggling, momentarily stunned by his harsh tone.
Tears streamed down her face silently, her lips trembling uncontrollably.
Seeing her in such a heart-wrenching state, Lawrence held her tightly, his hand gently resting on her head.
Full of guilt, he whispered, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you."
"Susie, you scared me just now. Don't get so worked up. We can have another child. Just take care of yourself..."
At the mention of another child, Susie pushed him away, her face wet with tears, her eyes cold and unyielding.
"Lawrence, I mean it when I say I want a divorce."
Lawrence's heart jolted.
"Sign the papers for me!" She grabbed one of the divorce agreements she had prepared and threw it at him with force.
"Sign it!" she shouted, her voice filled with anger. "Sign it and get out!"
Did he think she needed his pity?
She didn't.
He didn't want their child anyway, so why did he drag this out?
Seeing her unwavering determination, Lawrence felt a sharp pain in his chest. He asked with a bitter smile, "Did Rachel say something to you?"
Why else would she be so suddenly and intensely upset?
Rachel had dared to disregard his orders, come here, and say something that provoked Susie into such a state.
His Susie was always so gentle.
Susie turned away, not wanting to see the mocking look on his face. Rachel was his beloved, wasn't she?
They even had a child together. Wouldn't he be happy to get a divorce now?
"Lawrence, please sign the papers," she said, her tone softening.
Her low voice, tinged with a plea, only made Lawrence's heart ache more.
Seeing her dejected and sorrowful back, Lawrence felt suffocated.
"Alright," he finally said, his fists clenching to stop himself from hugging her.
