A few days later.
Susie noticed there was no hot water left in the hospital room, so she took the kettle to get some.
Someone entered David's hospital room.
David thought it was his daughter coming back and smiled, "So quick... Who are you?"
When he turned around and saw it wasn't Susie, his eyebrows furrowed. He looked at the woman wearing a mask, his eyes narrowing.
Wearing an oxygen mask, he struggled to speak.
"Who I am doesn't matter. I'm here to tell you something: I'm pregnant with Lawrence's baby. Isn't that surprising?"
"Mr. Morris, you should hurry and make your daughter divorce Lawrence. There's no point in them being together anymore. Lawrence loves me. It's not good for anyone if they stay together, right?"
Her words sent David into a fit of rage, his body trembling. He raised his trembling hand, pointing at the woman.
He was too breathless to speak, "You, you..."
"Mr. Morris, you seem to be in pain. Let me help you with this!"
The woman said innocently, reaching out to remove David's oxygen mask. David's eyes widened in anger and fear, but he was too weak to resist.
Just as Susie reached the door, she saw someone trying to remove her father's oxygen mask, and her heart skipped a beat.
She urgently shouted, "What are you doing? Don't touch my dad!"
She hurriedly dropped the kettle and rushed over, pushing the woman away and fixing her father's oxygen mask.
Seeing the situation turn unfavorable, the woman quickly got up to flee.
Susie's eyes flashed with determination, and she chased after her.
"Stop!"
She swiftly grabbed the woman's collar from behind and yanked off her mask.
"Rachel!"
Susie stared at her in disbelief, and as Rachel stood upright, Susie slapped her hard.
A look of panic flashed in Rachel's eyes, but she quickly suppressed it and slapped Susie back.
Susie, furious at Rachel's attempt to harm her father, retaliated with another slap.
"Bitch!"
Susie raised her hand again, about to strike Rachel's face, but someone grabbed her wrist, "Susie!"
Seeing it was Lawrence, Susie struggled even more fiercely.
"Let go of me! I want to kill her, that bitch..."
Susie, breathless with rage, had lost her usual gentleness, her expression murderous.
"Lawrence, she hit me!" Rachel hid behind Lawrence, flashing Susie a triumphant look as if mocking her for having no one to protect her.
Susie, provoked, lunged at Rachel, trying to hit her despite Lawrence being in the way.
"Susie!" Lawrence shouted angrily, holding her tightly. Seeing the red marks on her face, something flickered in his eyes.
"Lawrence, let go of me!" Seeing him protect this malicious woman, Susie's eyes filled with tears of rage.
"I want to kill her today! That bitch tried to kill my dad. I won't let her get away with it!"
Lawrence held her tightly, his eyes narrowing, "Susie, calm down!"
"Lawrence, I didn't do it. She's framing me. I was just kindly checking on Mr.Morris, but she attacked me without asking..."
Rachel's voice was pitiful as she defended herself, looking helplessly and fearfully at Lawrence.
Lawrence glanced at her coldly.
To Susie, it seemed like tenderness, and she struggled even more, screaming.
"Lawrence, let go of me!"
Seeing he wouldn't release her and even tightened his grip, she angrily kicked at him, "Let go of me!"
"Rachel, leave!" Lawrence struggled to hold the frantically fighting Susie, worried she might hurt herself.
"But I..."
"Go!"
Meeting Lawrence's stern, angry gaze, Rachel felt guilty and quickly left.
"Don't you dare leave!"
