Deep down, she wanted to ask Asher if he, like her, had also been reborn. But it didn't matter now. What mattered was that they were together now. The past from their previous lives was an unmentionable nightmare for both of them. Now that they had awakened from the dream and returned to reality, they would be happy together. So why bother dwelling on those things?
Some secrets were meant to be forgotten, buried forever, not spoken of.
She clung tightly to Asher, feeling the warmth he provided. Asher reciprocated with equal force, as if afraid she would vanish...
"Ash, after you graduate, we'll get married."
"That's what I was thinking too, mm..." Her remaining words were swallowed by the depths of Asher's passionate response.
Aria stumbled out of Asher's company, oblivious to the gazes of passersby. Melanie and Asher were terrifying!
She had thought Melanie was an innocent rabbit, but she wasn't any better! Just like Asher, she was a true devil!
Just as she caught her breath, her path was suddenly blocked by shadows. Several black-suited bodyguards stood before her. Terrified, Aria tried to flee, but before she could take a step, she was grabbed.
"Mr. Reid wants us to send you abroad," they said, tossing her into a car that sped straight to the airport.
Aria was left stunned...but then she calmed. Being sent abroad was far better than being killed by Asher. At least she still had her life, and tears of regret streamed down her face.
If she hadn't plotted against Leonard, hadn't severed ties with him, would things have ended differently?
She didn't know. All she knew now was that she regretted it.
With both Aria and Ethan vanished from their lives, their days became peaceful and joyful.
Leonard stopped mentioning Aria, acting as if nothing had happened. Yet, he still viewed Asher as an enemy, always itching to strike him.
Every time he thought about taking action against Asher, Vivienne would remind him and Leonard would comply, understanding the logic. If he went after Asher, his daughter would be heartbroken, and her pain would resonate with him, ultimately hurting him in the end.
This stifling frustration exploded one day.
Leonard woke up an hour earlier than usual that morning. He witnessed Asher carrying Melanie out of the guest room, clearly having spent the night togather. The three of them stood frozen, staring at each other in shock.
Tensions flared instantly. Leonard's rage ignited, spreading like wildfire.
Unable to bear it, Leonard demanded Asher put Melanie down and then punched him square in the face, ready for a fight to the death.
Melanie, frightened, rushed to intervene, but Leonard, consumed by anger, couldn't be restrained. She resorted to fetching Vivienne.
By the time things were under control, Asher bore the marks of the scuffle, while Leonard emerged unscathed—except for a sore hand, for Asher dared not retaliate against his future father-in-law.
Melanie's eyes reddened with concern as she tended to Asher's wounds, worrying over him.
Leonard watched helplessly as Melanie doted on Asher for days, fueling his anger even further.
But after this incident, he never laid a hand on Asher again. For, in the end, he was the one who always ended up hurt.
How miserable he was...
