Every turn on the road leading to "Inked Impressions" stirred up memories within me.
Even the dusky street lamp at the corner held fragments of recollections intertwined with him.
I had arranged for regular cleaning to keep "Inked Impressions" just as it was.
During that winter after he left, I sat on the sofa we had bought together, crying through the nights, only sleeping when exhaustion took over, drifting through the days.
Hoping to wake up from this nightmare. I hoped that he would still hold me in his arms when I woke up.
Here and now, I stood at the entrance, hesitating to step in.
Suddenly, someone called my name from behind. "Sophia!"
Luke panted as he stood behind me, "I finally found you."
I frowned, "Why are you here?"
"I saw your post on social media. I had no idea that you were watching me since high school."
"???"
"During the vows, it dawned on me that the one I really love is you. Will you come back and marry me now? I'll prove my love to you slowly afterward."
I smiled. "I was watching you? Are you thinking too much?"
"I used to live nearby too. You said you first met me here, didn't you?"
"No, I never loved you. Being with you was just because…"
At that moment, a commotion of footsteps approached from behind.
Emma's veil was askew, her bare feet betraying her disheveled state.
"Luke, I divorced for you. Why are you leaving me for her?"
"Sister, your ex-husband told me last night how you forsake me for being poor while I remained devoted to you. That's when I realized there was no justification for you forsaking me…"
"It wasn't like that. You know how he is. Why would you believe him?"
"He sent a video. That was you." Color drained from Emma's face.
I crossed my arms coldly, observing the farcical scene before me.
Luke turned to me, "Sophia, could you forgive me this time, please?"
