As I watched my second brother and Emma grow closer, I pouted inwardly, thinking, "With Second eldest brother already so overweight, is he really planning to be a lifelong couch potato?"
My brother's pudgy face, which had been beaming with joy, suddenly froze. He turned his head, locking eyes with me, staring in disbelief.
"Every Child, even he is just three year old, would know that junk food isn't good for you. Has he ever wondered why Dad and Emma keep giving him these things?"
"Are you saying something?" Leo demanded angrily.
"I didn't say anything," I replied innocently, a picture of naivety.
My brother was surprised, for he truly hadn't seen my lips move, but then he heard my voice again:
"But really, My dear Leo will develop esophageal cancer from eating too much of that stuff, and he'll end up dying a skeleton wrapped in skin."
His eyes widened in shock, staring at me as if he couldn't believe what he'd just heard.
I turned and walked away, thinking to myself "Let Leo bond with Dad and Emma. It doesn't matter anymore since he stopped loving me once Emma came along."]
"Lily!" My second brother called after me.
I turned back, "What is it, Leo?"
"You…" He hesitated, perhaps questioning his own senses for a split second.
Then he said, "I brought you a gift."
Before Emma entered our lives, I was the apple of everyone's eye in this family. Everyone doted on me, including this rebellious second eldest brother of mine.
I sauntered over slowly.
He handed me a figurine, asking, "Do you like it?"
I nodded, but my response lacked enthusiasm.
In my mind, I grumbled, "You won't be nice to me for long. Soon, you will only care for Emma, and she'll snatch this figurine away too."
"How could I? This is from me, your second eldest brother…" he began.
Emma interrupted abruptly, "Wow, it's so pretty! I've never seen such a delicate figurine before, it looks so real."
My brother gave Emma a slightly annoyed look.
Emma feigned envy, saying, "Lily is so lucky. Leo is so kind to you. If I had such a beautiful figurine to sleep with, I'd be the happiest girl in the world."
In my previous life, Emma used her innocent and pitiful facade to convince Leo to persuade me to give her the figurine, promising to buy me another one later. But after I gave it to Emma, my brother never bought me another one. His affection shifted entirely to her.
This time, before my brother could speak, I handed the figurine directly to Emma, saying, "If you like it, you can have it."
In my mind, I thought, "Anyway, if I don't give it, leo will persuade me to give it to her. I don't want to put him in a difficult position."
Emma lit up with delight, "Really? Thank you, Lily."
At that moment, I accepted my fate, thinking, "Emma will intently drop the figurine and blame me for breaking it."
Just like before, as soon as I released the figurine into her hands, it fell to the floor, shattering into pieces accompanied by Emma's distraught cries.
"Oh, such a beautiful figurine, how could it break? I've dreamed of owning one since I was little," she sobbed, tears streaming down her face.
She turned to me accusingly, "Lily, even if you didn't want to give it to me, you shouldn't have broken it."
Then, she hurriedly addressed my brother, "Leo, please don't blame Lily, she must have done it accidentally."
