"Evan, that man, broke my heart three years ago, and now, he give his heart to me. I know that someone as clever as he would realize I stole data from his computer. Yet, he never mentions it and always treats me with caution.
Without the past pain, perhaps I could be happy now.
I suddenly find myself missing him. Although I struggle to treat him kindly, I can try to change for our child’s sake. Holly was right; it's time to let go. For our child, I cannot afford to be too antagonistic. Our child needs a loving home.
I decide not to go to the commercial street anymore. Surrounded by bodyguards as if I were a president on a state visit, I feel uncomfortable with such conspicuousness.
"Call him and tell him I'm returning. And you, return to the car, leaving only two to accompany me," I instruct as I stand.
They initially respond with joy but hesitate at my next words.
"Do you need to block the door even when I use the restroom? Are you trying to harass me? If you don't comply, I'll call Evan."
Following my words, they really do leave just two behind, and the rest retreat.
Before entering the restroom, my eyelid twitches, and I sense something is wrong.
After using the restroom, as soon as I open the door, a handkerchief soaked with chloroform covers my nose and mouth. Before I faint, I glimpse the two supposed guards collapsed on the ground. Darkness overtakes me as I lose consciousness.
When I awake, I am tied to a chair.
Before I can survey my surroundings, a mocking voice echoes.
"My dear sister has finally woken up!"
I look up to see Megan standing before me, a smug smile on her face.
The air reeks of rust, and the surroundings are chaotic—a derelict factory with several tall men standing not far off.
It's evident from this setup that I've been kidnapped by Megan.
"What do you want?" Despite my fear and alarm, I strive to remain composed.
Megan's initially smug expression darkens as her eyes land on my belly, her face turning sinister and filled with spite.
Seeing her change, I instinctively want to protect my belly, but I am bound too tightly to move.
Megan grasps my chin, forcing me to face her as she spits out her venomous words, "Do you know how much I hate you? As long as you're alive, I feel suffocated."
After speaking, she slaps me hard, causing severe pain and drawing blood from my lip. I bite down on my lip, keeping silent to avoid further provoking her, fearful for my unborn child.
"Bitch, why do you have to take everything from me, including Evan? You've left me with nothing. I wish I could kill you. Why won't you just die!"
Megan grabs my hair, forcing me to meet her gaze.
"You've taken everything from me, so I will make your life a living hell," she hisses through clenched teeth.
"I can't take him from you; his heart is with you. He has always loved you," she continues, still standing before me. I feel once again deceived by him. My heart, barely healed, is shattered once more, filling me with deep resentment towards him.
