FERNANDA TORRES
'You should have told me right from the beginning. Maybe…just maybe I wouldn't be in this situation. Mom, you knew I loved him that I blame him for everything and yet you decided not to tell me the truth", I paced around the living room watching her look at me guiltily.
'I didn't know what to do. Aliya at that time you were going against a dangerous man. I did what I could to get you out of the city before you got hurt. If I had known you were pregnant before we left, I would have told you everything.
But you were already starting to move on. Should I have brought up the past and watch you crumble once more? As your mother it was my duty to protect you and whatever I did or failed to say was for your own good"
'Well it might have been for my own good but now Jaxon is caught in between", I said rubbing my forehead stressfully.
This is why I liked London more, London was quiet and peaceful and not as hell of dramatic as San Francisco.
'He loves it here that's for sure",she joked and I glared at her not in the mood for jokes.
It was a good thing, Jaxon was in the back yard being taught how to swim by Vince otherwise if he would have heard us argue things would have gotten a lot worse. The first thing I got to the house, he had already started telling me about Elise's party and how he wanted to go.
Practically everyone in this house wanted to go and I could say no to him. I had promised Ethan I would let him see Jaxon so saying no would only make me look like a jealous villainous mother.
I took a sip of the mango juice when we both heard the doorbell ring. Just as fast as the doorbell sounded, a maid passed by us going to the door to open it.
I heard footsteps resonate against the tiled floor and I waited anxiously to see who it was. Not that Vince had a lot of friends, the only people who had visited here was Ray and his fiance, and they were my friends.
My mother's friends from the neighborhood also visited. The only guy who visited Ray was his brother, Brian and that said a lot because for a famous cardiologist such as himself he seemed to have zero friends.
I placed the juice down, my eyes landing on a man dressed in all black leather. He smiled stretching out his hands and my brows raised in surprise.
'Drew?"
'The one and only",he commented and I went to hug him.
'What are you doing here?"
'Wow, I thought the welcoming reception would atleast be kind"
'I mean am happy to see you here in the States but why? Did something happen in London?" I asked parting from his hug as we walked to couch across where my mother was seated.
'Mrs Torres always a pleasure to see you",he greeted her and mom replied with a shy smile and a nod.
'Would it be surprising if I told you am on my vacation?"
Really? Drew had always been a workaholic since the first day I met him so it was kind of a surprise to hear him say that.
'You? On vacation? Why here though?"
'Yes, me on vacation. I'm a human too, Fer. I enjoy life once in a while and perhaps I overheard something about a wedding",he wiggled his brows and I glanced at mom then at him.
Ofcourse she invited him here. She wanted everybody present for her wedding even when it was three months away.
'The wedding isn't until June, Drew. I think she forgot to mention that part", I said looking at mom.
'Well all the more for me to enjoy myself here",he cooed and I went on to ask him where he was staying, how things were at the company and if grandpa was able to manage everything by himself.
We talked and talked and that's until Jaxon took Drew away from me while they went to talk about comics and play with his toys. By the time dinner ended, Drew was dead beat but he still insisted to go back to his own hotel not willing to sleep in Vince's mansion.
He did have much of an ego though, that much I had realized in the few years I worked with him.
'You know you could stay here if you wanted. Vince won't mind and Jaxon actually seems thrilled to see you here"
'You know me. I like flying solo",he said and chuckled.
'Having a big ego is the right word to describe you not staying"
'Maybe",he said taking his jacket while he leaned against the wall.
I stood against the door watching the moon's light illuminate his face.
'Well I guess this is goodnight. And I deeply wish you a nice vacation even though I'm still wondering why not go to Hawaii or LA?"
'Because you and Jaxon aren't there",he said it so casually that I chuckled.
He was always a big flirt so I didn't pay heed to his words that much. He reminded me more of Jai.
'Right"
'Goodnight, Fer. See you tomorrow",he kissed my cheek and I questioned what he meant by tomorrow.
'Jaxon wants me to go with him to a party?"
'Ooh no no, you don't have to"
'I never said I was being forces to go so I'll pick you up tomorrow? Goodnight again.. sleep tight"
xXxXxXxX
Birthday parties were a huge deal to kids which is why for the past one hour, Jaxon had been rummaging through his stuff trying to find the best outfit.
Meanwhile I was wrapping our gifts for Elise feeling frustrated that Jaxon decided to gift Elise his favorite saber. How in the hell was I going to wrap the thing and make it look like it wasn't a sword?
We arrived a little late at Elise's party due to Jaxon but Drew didn't seem to mind it at all. As for Vince and mom, they went on before us to the party.
'It's amazing mom",Jaxon gasped the very minute we got to Elise party.
'Amazing is right, man",Drew who stood next to me said gazing at everything..
I was probably to preoccupied at the fake snow to notice the little girl coming to my legs and hugging me.
'You came, mommy"
