Chapter 94

　　ETHAN CARTER
　　Over the years as Elise grew up so did her tastes. I had grown so accustomed to getting her a princess gown ok every birthday and just last year she was quick to tell me that spiderman was her favorite.
　　And like always, my mother rose to the task by hosting a spiderman themed party including a spiderman themed cake and games. This year if I could remember correctly she was into Elsa from her favorite cartoon Frozen.
　　Even as we sat in the dining room trying a new mushroom recipe I could help but feel that something was wrong. She hadn't talked to me since I got home, she had barely looked me in the eyes. I chomped on my food watching her struggle to cut through her tart.
　　'Do you need help?" I asked but she remained silent.
　　I understood she was giving me the silent treatment, question was why?
　　'Elise, you know you can talk to dad about anything. Are you mad at daddy?" I asked and she meekly nodded her eyes on her food, her lips curled up in this way that made her look like Donald duck.
　　'Why are you mad at daddy?" I asked placing my fork and spoon on the table cloth.
　　'You never told me about my brother",she huffed and I crossed my arms on my chest wondering what I would say.
　　'You never asked about him", I said defensively.
　　She also put her fork and spoon next to her plate looking at me.
　　'Is he going to live with us?"
　　'Yes for a little while", I said honestly.
　　'What about his mom? Is that my mom too?" She asked, her eyes widening as if anticipating that my answer would be yes.
　　I couldn't break her heart and say no because deep down I wanted Aliya or Fernanda to be her mother. I wasn't just going to win Jaxon's heart but hers too and I'm sure she would love Elise unconditionally just like the way she loved Jaxon.
　　'Yes", I said watching her pull up a big smile.
　　She pushed her chair back walking around the table to come where I was seated. I lifted her from the ground making her sit on my lap.
　　'Then why didn't she come to see me?" She badgered and I swallowed an invisible lump of saliva.
　　'She was far far away on business but she's back. For you", I poked her chest.
　　'Will she be at my party tomorrow? And Jaxon too?"
　　'Yes and they'll bring presents… isn't that exciting"
　　'Very!"she squealed before her tiny arms encircled around my neck and I hugged her.
　　Ooh Elise, I only wished happiness for her and nothing more. With Jaxon and Aliya back, I realized I had to give Elise all my attention too so that she wouldn't feel.left out. After dinner, I took her upstairs she seemed really tired and at the same time excited that Aliya and Jaxon would be attending her party.
　　I tucked her in bed going back to my room to wrap her present and hiding it before she had a chance to see it.

　　'I think Lisa really overdid it this time",Mila exclaimed and t had to agree with her.
　　My whole house looked like as if Santa had walked in with all the snow and ice from the North Pole. There were wooden cutouts of the princess Elsa, ribbons shaped like snow, white confetti falling off from the fan like snow and there was more blue than I had ever seen in my entire lifetime.
　　Mila and I stood by the doorway, watching the kids on the ground making snow angels on the fake snow and my mother ooh my mother seemed delighted to explain to everyone that she designed everything.
　　To top it all of, she matches with Elise's blue gown and tiara…it was rather ridiculous but Elise seemed to love it the more. The grown ups were a far off from the snow madness enjoying the shrimp cocktails which was a rather poor choice seeing as to how the theme of the party was ‘frozen' and not some tropical day at the beach.
　　I looked around the room, greeting some guests with a nod and I felt rather disappointed not seeing Aliya or her family at the party.
　　'Daddy, daddy…look at what Aunty Crystal got me? Can I open it now? Please",Elise came running with a huge purple wrapped gift in her hands and I feared over what it might be.
　　'Okay but just this one, you know you are supposed to open the gifts later, right?" I asked pinching her cheeks before I saw her run off to ask her friends for help in unwrapping the paper.
　　'Relax you don't have to be scared, it's an Elsa doll",Crystal came right after Elise had ran off.
　　'It's good to see you, I thought you were in Fiji", I hugged her and Mila also hugged her before disappearing into the party to ask my mother about the cake.
　　'I had somethings to take care of here at home",she said standing beside me as she sipped her fruity punch.
　　'And Landon? I don't see him here so I bet he couldn't make it?"
　　'He made it alright but he received a call from work so he had to turn the car around and leave. He sent our little angel a gift though"
　　'I hope it's not a horse this time round", I joked remembering that the last birthday Elise had, Landon had bought for her a pony.
　　'It's a horse actually, only smaller and not alive",Crystal retorted and for a moment there I was relieved to hear that.
　　'Elise, she seems happy than usual. Anything happen while I was away?" She asked and just when I was going to her about Aliya…she pranced through the other entrance door with Jaxon in her hand and…a man?
　　Who was he? Why was he holding her hand like that? And why did they look like a happy family? God, is that the reason why she was refusing to give me another chance? She had a boyfriend?
