Seeing Aunt Vicky back home and sound gave me joy, she sat comfortably on the couch with Lorraine sitting on her left and Mrs Smith on her right, while Jessica sat on a separate place. The chair facing the sofa. Aunt Vicky humbly welcomed me in while Mrs Smith looked somehow tense. Probably because I knew about what happened between her and Doctor Ethan. After having been welcomed, she left decided to leave by biding Aunt Vicky goodbye and promising to come back the following day. Lorraine did the same too, but in her case I didn't know why. Perhaps she was tired of staying too and wanted to report back to the station, or maybe she had been waiting for the right opportunity or perfect time to leave. Anyways, whatever the case might be I think one way or another they would all return back to their house in the end. By the way, it seemed they haf been around for quite some time. That means, the hospital discharged Aunt Vicky earlier than I thought. Well, I was really happy for her. She was back home and looking sound, we wouldn't have to be going to the hospital to check on her again. Everyone is back home! I thought to myself.
I could remember when she first fell to the ground, I was so shocked. I never she was going to survive. But now, I just couldn't believe she was finally back. Anyways, I guess everything is possible. But, everything is possible does that mean Jessica could change completely and become a good samaritan? Is it possible for that to ever happen? Well, probably but I wouldn't count. She had shown positive changes before but later returned back to her normal self. The only one thing I think would change her would be life in solidarity, or when she loses her mom. Then, she would realize that life isn't all about doing whatever you like and thinking nobody can stop you. But if she didn't change even after losing her mom or find herself living a solidarity life, then she might never change as that proved how solid her heart is. And having such kind of heart means having a tough mind. Changes would be nearly impossible, unless if maybe by some miraculous the person later in the future meet new people and chooses to emulate them. That would surely bring about a significant change to one's behavior.
Talking about changes in one behavior, as soon as I sat close to Aunt Vicky on the couch Jessica stood from where she sat... on the opposite chair and left the room. She was holding her phone and was probably chatting. Hence, I was left with Aunt Vicky in the sitting room. I held her hand and smiled at her. She asked why I was smiling, and I didn't hesitate to tell her it was because she was finally back home. That statement made her to smile as well, after which she asked how Mam Camila was. "She's fine," I responded and then told her the old woman sent her regards to her. We kept on talking for a whily until she suddenly began feeling sleepy, then she asked me to escort her to her room. The fact that she was yet to completely heal and be able to work properly, she needed someone to help. I gently held her and began walking towards the stairway with her. She was really trying with the movement, and when we arrived at her room she sat on her bed and bade me goodnight. "Goodnight, sweet dreams!" I bade her back and then left the room to my own room.
Suddenly, Jessica walked in and asked who gave me such a wonderful gown. I was surprised to hear that from her as nobody even cared to ask about it other than her. Why was she then interested in knowing the person that gave me the gown? Well, I turned to her with a smile and told her it was a gift from someone special. However, she wasn't still satisfied. She wanted to know who exactly gave me the gown despite knowing Frank could, but why was she even persistent? It wasn't as if telling her the person would add anything to her but it was obvious she was suspicious about who the person might really be. It was obvious she knew it wasn't Frank, however she wouldn't hear that from me hence I kept on playing with her mind until she was eventually fed up and decided to just leave. That was great. I was happy that she had finally left, at least the room would be quiet and I would be able to think about positive things. I really disliked negative energy.
The moment she left, I took off the gown and changed into a nightgown. Thus, I took some pictures of the gown before taking it to the closet. Then I climbed my bed and laid my back on the bed's headboard while stretching my feet on the bed. I then took my laptop from the bedside table and transfered the images I took of the gown into it. After that, I used PicSearch to search for the kindnof gown online and even the possible price for the gown. Suddenly, many search results came out as well as different price tags. Some had a price tag of five hundred bucks, some eight hundred and fifty bucks, and some about one though bucks or slightly more. I was surprised, like seriously? Why would Mam Camila buy such and expensive gown for me? I didn't even know when I quickly shut the laptop off and returned it to where I took it. The gown was really expensive, there was none of of less than five hundred bucks and that got me wondering as to if I really deserved the gown or not. I really shouldn't have checked the price but I was curious, you know? Plus the way Jessica reacted when she saw it, and also how she came asking who bought it for me. I had really wanted to know the price, but I felt I shouldn't have checked for it. I really shouldn't have!
I heaved a sigh, laid flat on the bed with my head now on the pillow. Then I shut my eyes off, and suddenly I fell asleep. When I woke up later I found out it was morning. I gently withdrew from the bed and went into the bathroom as usual to take a shower. When I was done taking shower, I returned and changed into a light dress which I could only wear at home and not go out with. I then went to Aunt Vicky's room and saw her in a sitting position on her bed. She was in her nightgown, probably haven't taken shower yet. I greeted her GOOD MORNING and she enquired about my night. After exchanging pleasantries, I asked she needed to get off her bed so I could help her up to her feet but she shook her head negatively and told me she was okay, but that I should get her a coffee and some cookies for breakfast as she was already feeling hungry. It was actually early, but it might be that she didn't take some strong for dinner that was why she was feeling hungry at the moment. Anyways, I didn't waste much time in going downstairs to make a coffee for her. And while doing that, I heard siren... probably a patrol vehicle, although it was too early for that. Then the thought of Lorraine coming to check on Aunt Vicky came into my mind. I then check through the glasses to see what was going on as the siren continued to croon. Suddenly, I saw an ambulance parking across the street with some patrol vehicles already waiting for it. It was obvious something happened, but what exactly was that? I didn't just know the fact that it wasn't usual. But by the looks of it, a terrible incident had occured...
But what could be the incident? I wondered as I left what I was doing to check outside. As soon as I was outside I realized the ambulance was parked in front of Mrs John's friend's house, Emily. Suddenly, I saw a body bag being brought out from the house while Mrs John was fighting with the police to let her husband be while crying. However, her husband was handcuffed and she wasn't allowed to come closer to him. What really happened? I wondered again thinking about the possibilities of Mr John murdering someone in Emily's house, or possibly Emily herself. The police kept Mrs John away from approaching her husband and the rest of the crowd away from approaching the body bag. And just as the body was taken into the ambulance, the ambulance drove away while the police locked down the house before they left together with Mr John. That was a heart touching thing to see. Well, whatever the case may be it didn't look good at all. Mrs John continued to cry while Mrs Smith and other neighbors consoled her. Suddenly, I heard Jessica yelling at me from the inside that coffee was ready. I quickly returned and saw her wearing an apron, she was obviously getting ready to prepare breakfast.
I walked over to the kitchen and got Mrs Vicky's coffee set on a small tray, and then got some cookies for her too before heading upstairs to her room. Her phone was in her hands and her attention was on the phone, she was probably going through something. And just as I walked over to her about keeping the tray of what she asked me to get her close to her on the bed, she was frightened by my appearance. "Laura, you frightened me!" she exclaimed, however it wasn't as if I intentionally frightened her. Infact, I didn't even know why she was frightened in the first place because when I came I thought she acknowledged the sound of the door as I opened and closed it, and the sound of my footsteps as well. However, it seemed what she was looking at in her phone had completely snatched away her attention making her to acknowledge my presence at all. I was really surprised, but what could be that? I mean, what was she really checking? Was it something what sharing? I thought to myself after having apologized for frightening her. And just as I turned about leaving, she called and asked if I heard what happened in our neighborhood and I was like, WHEN? Actually, a lot had been happening, hence she had to be specific when exactly. And moment she replied "Today!" I heaved a sigh and told her what I saw when I checked to see what was going on. I narrated everything to her from the start. Although I only told her what I saw. Just then she heaved a sigh and told me what one of our neighbors told her on DeeChat recently. That Mr John sneaked into Emily's house, a basic school teacher and tried to take advantage of her by having s*xual intercourse with her only for her to resist him. She fought and defended herself, throwing whatever she sees at him while shouting for help and yelling at him to leave her alone and go away. However, he was so adamant. Many people in the nearby houses heard the noise but were skeptical about going to the house to check what exactly was going on, hence they called the police. Sadly, when the police arrived it was already too late. Emily had, while trying to escape Mr John fell from the stairs and hit her head on the wall she led to her ultimate death. The news made sense, buy why was Mrs John crying and fighting her way to reach out to her husband despite knowing what he did? I wouldn't dare approach a monster when I already knew what he did such a thing to someone, even if it happened he was my husband too! I thought to myself.
