��For what?�� I asked with a blank look, sitting back on the sofa.
Vexon let out an exasperated sigh. ��I was really stressed with work last night and lashed out at you.�� He was really feeling bad because guilt was visible in his eyes.
��Why didn��t you go to the office today?�� I was patting Allison��s back now, as she laid her head on my chest, as if she finally found the peace she was longing for.
��I took a day off.�� Hearing his answer, I arched an eyebrow at him in disbelief, as he said, ��I want to give my entire time to you, Ev and this new addition to our family.�� He stroked Allison��s cheek with his thumb.
��I appreciate your apology, Vexon, but���� I paused for a brief moment and continued, ��I don��t feel like forgiving you.��
Vexon narrowed his eyes at me after listening to my answer.
I really didn��t feel like forgiving him, probably because I knew he was hiding a lot of things from me.
��Well, what can I do so that my wife can forgive me?�� he questioned as I tried not to look at him, still trying to be angry.
I retorted, ��How about you start to not raise your voice at your wife and hurt her?��
Vexon wanted to say something else but he stopped himself. With a sigh, he offered, ��How about I fix this with dinner tonight? Just you and me.��
��What about my kids?�� I inquired, and noticed that Allison was fast asleep in my arms. I had to put her in bed.
Vexon put his hands in his pocket. ��Well, Maya can handle them for a night.��
Shaking my head, I made my way to Allison��s room, which was now fully cleaned by the servants.
I placed my angel on the bed after entering her purple colored room. Smiling, I admired her for some time. I couldn��t believe I had another daughter. I was seeing her after a year. I was thankful to Nafeesa to give such an angel to me.
When my phone rang, I dashed out of the room. It was Weena Nivekle, my best friend.
��Hey, Weena!�� I chirped out.
��Ruby, you won��t believe,�� she breathed out, a glint of excitement lingering in her voice. ��Remember, how I missed my periods? I took a pregnancy test and I am pregnant!��
I gasped hearing her. ��Oh my God. Congratulations!��
I was so excited and happy for her. I was pregnant and now, she is as well. Our babies can be best friends.
��Our kids can be best friends like us,�� said Weena, as if she could easily read out my mind. ��I didn��t tell Tyran yet.��
��You should tell him. He will be so happy.�� I continued speaking, ��How is your sister-in-law? Is she taking good care of herself?��
Tyran��s brother died a few weeks ago and his wife was also pregnant.
Weena let out an exasperated sigh. ��She is all the same. She is not taking care of herself. I am the one serving her food.��
I gossiped with Weena for some more time. In between, I checked on Allison and Everley. I took my medication on time. When I called Vexon, he said that he was making arrangements for our dinner tonight. I wonder what he was planning. I was very curious, but I knew I had to wait.

��Keya, what do you mean by Cason screwed up? Did he tell Vexon, yet?�� I spoke to Keya over facetime. Keya was my cousin who was in Italy along with Cason because Vexon sent Cason there to handle the Gladiolus.
I was fully ready for our special dinner date tonight, wearing a red dress reaching up to my knees. I was waiting for Vexon to inform me that we would leave right now.
��No, Ruby. He didn��t tell Vexon yet. Cason was shipping the bombs to Canada and a few cops caught him,�� answered Keya.
��Okay, tell Cason to not inform Vexon about it.�� I glanced at the bedroom door, fearing Vexon would come anytime soon. ��I will tell Vexon about it during dinner. He will have a nice mood, so he will not be angry at Cason that much.��
��Hey, we have to go now. Are you ready?�� Vexon stepped into the room, fixing his cufflinks.
Immediately, I cut Keya��s call and stood from the sofa. I smiled at him. ��I am fully ready.�� I couldn��t help but admire him as he was wearing a red suit, looking hotter than usual.
I feel like pulling him into bed right now and making love to each other.
Damn, my hormones.
His eyes traveled me from head to toe, before he approached me and cupped my cheeks. ��You look stunning.�� With that, he placed his lips on mine. Before I could intensify the kiss, he pulled away. ��I made efforts to make this dinner perfect. So I can��t waste my hard work.��
��Or, we can just stay in b���� I couldn��t complete my sentence because Vexon placed his index finger on my lips.
��Hush.�� He spoke up with a deep husky voice, ��If you have offered this before, I wouldn��t even have to work hard for the dinner reservation. But since it��s all done already, control your hormones.��
I frowned at his answer and pushed his hand away. ��Fine. Let��s go.��
He placed his hand on my waist, pulling me closer to him as we made our way out.
We started walking to the car now.
��What about Allie and Ev?�� he asked me while opening the car door for me.
��I fed Allie her baby formula so it is her nap time now. Meanwhile, Everley is supposed to complete her homework and I will check it once I get back,�� I replied to him.
I got into the passenger seat and he got into the car as well. Then he started driving.
��Vexon, you didn��t bring any guards with us. What if we get attacked?��
Sensing out my fear, Vexon placed his hand over mine, giving me an assuring smile. ��Just trust me. I have planned out everything.��
I nodded my head and looked at the window.
Vexon seemed in a happy mood. I just hope his mood remains like this before I tell him about the mess Cason has made.
